"Gone" as written by and Christopher A. Daughtry....
Feeling like this could only mean
I'm sinking
Feeling like this could only mean
I'm sinking
Well, I'm sinking
Pull me out

Every time I see your clothes scattered out on the floor
I say, I thought you would be home
You said you never would be gone
Every time I see the light not burning on the porch
I say, I thought you would be home
You said you never would be gone
But you are
You are

Feeling overwhelmed, I take a dive
To a once overfilled but now empty place to hide
The day you turned on me is the day I died
And I've forgotten what it's like
And how it feels to be alive

Every time I see your clothes scattered out on the floor
I say, I thought you would be home
You said you never would be gone
Every time I see the light not burning on the porch
I say, I thought you would be home
You said you never would be gone

Reach up to the sky
When nothing seems to go right
When nothing seems to go right for me

Every time I see your clothes scattered out on the floor
I say, I thought you would be home
You said you never would be gone
Every time I see the light not burning on the porch
I say, I thought you would be home
You never would be gone
I thought you would be home (I thought you would be home)
You said you never would be gone
But you are

General CommentThis song couldn't be more blunt on what it's about. Powerful delivery by Chris Daughtry. One of my favorite tracks.

General Commenti can't BELIEVE no one has commented this song!! Although the meaning is clear, I absolutely love all of it--Chris' voice, the guitar. Definitely one of my favorites
    "Reach up to the sky.

When nothing seems to go right for me."

General Commenti think that this song is abouta guy whose wife left him. He then goes to a church, or a "once overfilled but now empty place to hide". And prays.

General Commentthis song is definitely about a guy who's wife has just left him and all the memories surrounding him are pulling him down. I can see the "once overfilled but now empty place," being a church because he later says he reaches up to the sky which could mean he's raising his hands in the air and surrendering to God for help.
