"What I Want" as written by Ash Howes, Michelle Lena Poole and Richard Frederick Stannard....
It always seemed that I was sorry for the things that I did
But never did a thing about it till I let you in
It's kinda funny: by the time that I was falling apart
You came and put me back together, now...

'Cause what I want
And what I need
Has now become the same thing
You've been offering
As days go by
I've finally become what you want me to be

I still remember all the stupid things that I've said and done
But still, you stuck around with me when all your friends said, "Run!"
Givin' me a name; I found myself inside all the flames
Becoming everything for you again is...

What I want
And what I need
Has now become the same thing
You've been offering
As days go by
I've finally become what you want me to be

Don't tell me you saw it all along
God help me, I never knew it alone
Guess I was wrong

What I want
And what I need
Has now become the same thing
You've been offering
As days go by
I've finally become what you want me to be

And what I need
Has now become the same thing
You've been offering
You've taken me
And shaped me to become what you want me to be

General CommentThis song is really bittersweet. It's like he's created an entirely new persona for himself because he needs this woman in his life. He's lost a bit of himself to keep her.

General CommentWell, I suppose it does have that bittersweetness to it, but somehow I feel like he wanted to change, especially because of this line:

"It's kinda funny about the time that I was falling apart.
You came and put me back together, now..."

He didn't know what to do in life, and she helped him get it together. Also, this line:

"Don't tell me you saw it all along
God help me, I never knew I belonged
    Yes I was wrong..."

Somehow to me it feels like she'd been wanting him to go for her, but wasn't sure if he'd ever come around. He didn't think he belonged with her, but now he admits he was wrong.

And yes, the guitar in this is AMAZING.

General CommentTo me, it seems like he was rebellious and even when he did stupid things she still wanted to be with him--and even though he didnt necessarily want to, she rly affected him and caused him to change into what she wanted. and like harusame, i LOVE the guitar

General Commentthis song ROCKS! I think that she stuck by him even when maybe he didn't deserve it... I think he became what she wanted him to be, but he knows that it was for his own good. "god help me, I never knew it alone...guess I was wrong" she helped him see the light, and turn life around...maybe?! The 'bittersweet' aspect of it makes the song a little harder to decipher!

General CommentThis song is about a man who has made alot of mistakes in his life but never did anything about it until he met this girl. He never knew where he belonged or what he wanted until he realized she was all he wanted and needed. He then began to change his ways and at times it was still hard. All her friends told her to stay away from him but she stuck by him until he became everything she wanted him to be.
