"Song for Someone" as written by and Glen James/macconiomaire Hansard....
Dryin' up in conversation, still
My head was halfway 'round the world
And workin' through the sleepin' hours
Driven by the promise of a quick return

And I wonder if she'll be the very same
And I wonder if she's gonna break the waves again

Tryin' just to focus on the good
I'm tired of divin' for the pearls
And every dawn is another morning less
I have to wait to wake beside that girl

And I hope she's gonna be the very same
And I hope she can survive this wave again

And if we're all for someone
And if we're born for someone
When will she come, that someone?
And put things in their place

Comin' back to see you girl
You know there's nothing surer in this world
Remember all the madden seasons
Back when we weren't old enough to wait our turn

And I hope we're gonna be the very same
And I hope we can survive this wave again

And if we're all for someone
And if we're born for someone
When will she come, that someone?
And put things in their place

General CommentThis song is about being lonely. And holding on to the hope that, as the saying goes "there's someone out there for everyone".

General Commentit almost seems like it could be about him touring and just waiting to go back to the girl he loves. or just anyone goin on a trip where they wont see someone they care about for a long time.

General CommentAbsolutely RubyFalls. I think Glen has mentioned previously that it was his one and only "On The Road" song.

General CommentI agree I think its just a song to help get through those lonely times. When you're wondering if there really are that many fish in the sea.

Theres a video of Glen singing this acostic by him self. Its great. He switches up the lyrics and I think they fit best how he does it there.

    He says:
I'm coming back to see you girl
You know there's nothing surer in this world
And every dawn is another morning less
I have to wait to wake beside that girl
And I hope we're gonna be the very same...
And I hope we can survive this wave again...

    I like it that way.

Heres a link to the vid.

General CommentI think it's also about loving a girl who really is half way around the world...waiting to call her when it's daytime there...wondering if she's changed any...
