"Little Joanna" as written by Matthew Fletcher, Thomas Michael Fletcher, Dougie Lee Poynter and Daniel Alan Jones....
Little Joanna's got big blue eyes
Coconut cream on coffee coloured thighs
I could die lying in her arms
Where castles are made of sand
We start to dance
But only the music is bleating when crickets replace the band

She will always be my sun kissed trampoline
She goes up and down in my heart
Turned into jelly beans
And I'm starting to believe that danger's never near
When Joanna is here

(Little Joanna)

Little Joanna's like a laser beam sky
Gluteous Maximus like a fire fly
And that's why I'm a kissaphoboc
Where cellulite dreams were made
Like lemonade
But when the shivers are salty and sea
Foams the color of space

She will always be my sunkissed trampoline
She goes up and down in my heart
Turned into jelly beans
And I'm starting to believe that danger's never near
When Joanna is here

God love Joanna
But she doesn't understand much
I love it when our hands touch
Knowing that I'm near
Apple-flavored lip gloss
Achilles wears a necklace
And feeling I got reckless
When Joanna is here

Little Joanna's got big blue eyes
I could die lying in her arms
Where castles are made of sand
We start to dance
But only the music is bleating when the crickets replace the band

She will always be my sunkissed trampoline
She goes up and down in my heart
Turned into jellybeans
And I'm starting to believe that danger's never near
When Joanna is here

When Joanna's here
Sunkissed trampoline
Up and down in my heart
(x12)

General CommentIts such a feel good happy song, when I read that the boys loved this song the most I thought then I’ll might like it a bit.
But it just grows on you.

Little Joanna's like a laser beam sky
Gluteous Maximus like a fire fly
    And that's why I'm a kissaphoboc
    Where cellulite dreams were made
    Like lemonade
But when the shivers are salty and sea
    Foams the colour of space

At this part I’m really stunned by my stupidity.
Engels isn’t my first language but I just keep thinking
why did the used a dictionary ?

General Commenti always got the feeling that they were either referring to a fat girl or a really skinny girl. (opposite ends, i know)
the constant use of food as analogy got me wondering, and the fact that its "LITTLE joanna" made me think either they're using contrast for humour or literally saying that she's a little person.

i used to think it was about a little girl, maybe a relative such as a younger sister or cousin. but then the mention of thighs usually means something a little more sexual. so i'm still not sure....

ps. great song. absolutely love it.

    General CommentI love this song!

I think its about a holiday romance....

'Coconut cream on coffee coloured thighs' sun tan maybe?

'But only the music is bleating when crickets replace the band'...when your on holiday you can hear loads of crickets

'Gluteous Maximus like a fire fly' isnt gluteous maximus like a muscle in the bum? lol and fire flys are meant to have big bums..so i presume they are saying she has a big bum?

'But she doesn't understand much' Maybe she is from another country?

'Achilles wears a necklace'...she wears an anklet

thats what i get from it anyway.

General Commentwell on mcflyoffcial.com it says:

Dougie: This song comes from around the time we locked ourselves in the flat to write for the album. The song was all over the bloody place and I was trying to think of topics for the song. Ive still got lizards in my room and I had all my tanks there, glowing, and the crickets were bleating. It reminded me of being on holiday and I thought ‘summer romances are awesome. Holiday romances are always really good, arent they? Its the honeymoon period and you never get bored or them, and they never get bored of you. So Tom and I sat down and spent ages on trying to paint a picture of what a holiday romance is like.

General CommentI absolutely love this song....one of my favourites from an outstanding album (which in my opinion was greatly underappreciated when it was released...).

Ever since I first heard it I thought it was about a girl who he has a crush on, quite chubby, but "little" in the sense that she is short and adorable.

Ahhhh I just love this song. Gives me the biggest goosebumps everytime.
