    General CommentIt sounds like he is happy because he hasn't formed permanent attachments with anyone. Although, I wonder if I sense some degree of sarcasm in the song as well.

    My InterpretationTo me, the minor tone of the song, the monotone voice rhythm, the first two lines (half of the lyrics!) being negative ("I don't love anyone", "no") clearly mean that the narrator is not actually happy.

    My personal interpretation is of an ironic meaning: a man who doesn't love anyone might claim he's happy but actually he's not. We all need love and that's what makes us happy.
