Drew looks at me, I fake a smile so he won't see
That I want and I'm needing everything that we should be
I'll bet she's beautiful, that girl he talks about
And she's got everything that I have to live without

Drew talks to me, I laugh 'cause it's just so funny
But I can't even see anyone when he's with me
He says he's so in love, he's finally got it right
I wonder if he knows he's all I think about at night

He's the reason for the teardrops on my guitar
The only thing that keeps me wishing on a wishing star
He's the song in the car I keep singing, don't know why I do

Drew walks by me, can he tell that I can't breathe?
And there he goes, so perfectly
The kind of flawless I wish I could be
She'd better hold him tight, give him all her love
Look in those beautiful eyes and know she's lucky 'cause

He's the reason for the teardrops on my guitar
The only thing that keeps me wishing on a wishing star
He's the song in the car I keep singing, don't know why I do

So I drive home alone, as I turn out the light
I'll put his picture down and maybe get some sleep tonight

'Cause he's the reason for the teardrops on my guitar
The only one who's got enough of me to break my heart
He's the song in the car I keep singing, don't know why I do
He's the time taken up, but there's never enough
And he's all that I need to fall into

Drew looks at me, I fake a smile so he won't see

A very common situation. She is good friends with Drew, but she silently wishes it would be more than just a friendship. Drew doesn't know that she feels this way, and he confides to her about his love interest. She silently suffers heartbreak, and hopes that this other girl will realize what a great guy Drew is.

my friend and i both liked the same guy...he liked both of us.i went out with him and then we broke up...a few days later they started going out and he talked about her non stop and it drove me insane..mostly because she was one of the prettiest girls i know!and i missed him so much.i still do.whenever i see him i always act like im the happiest person in the world..which is kinda hard because we have a couple classes together everyday. and when i go home i always walk in the door with tears down my face.i have made this one of my "theme songs" because of him and i still love him

the kind of flawless I wish I could be...

this line gets to me cause i hate having the feeling of not being good enough. and knowing someone is way out of your league. whether it be, pretty, smart or whatever. great song, everyone can relate to it

This has always one of my favorite songs because my former best friend used to be my crush, and I couldn't understand how he couldn't see what I saw in him. I wanted to be more than friends but never got the nerve to say it, and he used to like all these girls and ask for my advice on them. Well, it broke my heart, but I loved him like crazy, and now that I can see clearly, though I still miss being his friend, I think I cried a lot of worthless tears over him.

This song is my favorites on her CD. It speak directly to me. It's about a girl who is so in love with a close guy friend. Unfortunately he sees her as only a friend. He ends up getting a girlfriend and is very happy and she only wishes it could be her. Yeah, can you tell I've kind of been there..?

I just heard this song for the first time an hour ago and it's on repeat. I can't stop listening to it, I'm already obsessed. I heard this song and it was like someone was reading my mind... the feelings described are so complicated but they are so real to me and that's why I love this song so much. I just love the idea of the girl hoping for "drew" to be happy... because as much as it hurts, when you like someone enough, as long as they're happy... that's all that matters...

Tyler Hilton's mom was my P.E. teacher in elementary school. I just felt the need to mention that =]

Anyways. This is such an amazing song. I wish I'd found it sooner, when I was going through that same situation. I've finally moved on though =] But still, it makes me a little sad to listen to this and remember.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
