Know you've heard it all before
You can't believe everythin' you hear
I never trusted you
God please help

Do you know who's side your on
Cause when it all hits the fan
You're gonna need a friend to
Put your faith in

You were the first to cast the stone
You can hear them saying

Peace is our profession
but we all love the bomb
It's a strange kind of
Peace is our profession
But we all love the bomb
It's a strange kind of love

Don't forget to say your prayers
Somethings gone very wrong down here
Dear john is on the way
God please say

We were the first to cast the stone
You can hear them saying

Peace is our profession
But we all love the bomb
It's a strange kind of
Peace is our profession
But we all love the bomb
It's a strange kind of love

(humming)

The doom device is set to go
Where will your garden grow?

We were the first to cast the stone
Now we're all here singing

Peace is our profession
But we all love the bomb
It's a strange kind of
You know that these are our confessions
That we all love the bomb
It's a strange kind of love
It's a strange kind of love

General CommentI know for a FACT that this song was written as a tribute to Kubrick's "Dr. Strangelove" - that's obvious. Later (see the video) it became a protest song about the ridiculousness of pre-emptive war!
