"Love You In The Fall" as written by and Paul Westerberg....
I love you in the fall
I'll never forget you at all
I love you in the fall
I'll never forget you at all

I wait for always
I love you in the fall
I'll never forget you
The winter's coming on.

Seasons change before me
Before me there must have
Been someone else.
Oh, yeah.

I wait for always
I love you in the fall
I love you forever.

Season change before me
After me there'll be someone new,
Someone new.
..? ..shadows of the summer time
When the crimson leaves appear
It's only days till autumn's here.

I love you forever
I love you in the fall
I love you forever
I love you in the fall
I love you forever
I love you in the fall

I'll never forget you
I'll never forget you
I'll never foregt you
I'll never forget you-- no no
I'll never forget you.

General CommentInteresting that Westerberg's return to form should come from a children's album.

Well perhaps that's a bit harsh. I'm judging mainly off of Suicane Gratification and Eventually. Eventually had a few good songs, and I think SG is actually ok.

Anyway, this is a good song, sadder than what you'd think from a kids movie, but par for the course for Westerberg. Another song of a lost love, it seems. Or perhaps a love that never was?
Anyway, this song is a promise that he'll always love this person. He knows that he's not the first to love her, nor will he be the last.
Basic but good. I like it, even if it makes me sad. Reminds me of someone who's leaving in the fall.

General CommentI'm thinking about my own seasonal depression, hearing this song. If I can love someone in the fall (when I'm feeling worse) then I could probably love the person forever. In that way it appeals to me, even though the lyrics is a bit cheesy.
