"The Saints Are Coming" as written by and Stuart/jobson Adamson....
There is a house in New Orleans
They call the risin' sun
It's been the ruin of many a poor boy
And, God, I know I'm one

I cried to my daddy on the telephone
How long now?
Until the clouds unroll and you come down
The line went
But the shadows still remain since your descent, your descent

I cried to my daddy on the telephone
How long now?
Until the clouds unroll and you come home
The line went
But the shadows still remain since your descent, your descent

Lo-cha-hey!

The saints are coming
The saints are coming
I say no matter how I try
I realize there's no reply
The saints are coming
The saints are coming
I say no matter how I try
I realize there's no reply

A drowning sorrow floods the deepest grief
How long now?
Until the weather change condemns belief
How long now?
When the night watchman lets in the thief
What's wrong now?

Boom! Cha! Hey!

The saints are coming
The saints are coming
I say no matter how I try
I realize there's no reply
The saints are coming
The saints are coming
I say no matter how I try
I realize there's no reply
I say no matter how I try
I realize there's no reply
I say no matter how I try
I realize there's no reply

General CommentWow MV85, what an observation. U2 and Green Day performed it live at a benefit for victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Like said before its a re-make of The Skids and the lyrics have been altered a bit.

And who cares which bands are better than others, theres a thing called genre. They are both great bands and that is that.

General CommentI really like this song. I think we all know that the context of this song is based on hurricane Katrina, and with that in mind, the song ain't that hard to figure out.

Never been a big Green Day fan. They're good, but U2 is soo much better. Sorry guys Bono is way cooler that Billie. And the best part is he knows it

"It's never been done. oddly enough, which is interesting, Two bands like this, two bands having a baby...and we're not the chick,"~Bono on working with Green Day for "The Saints are Coming"

Just goes to show U2 is much more superior than Green Day

General CommentFirst of all, a lot of the lyrics are wrong but whatev. Second, this video is really really great and Billy's and Bono's voices go really well together. Third, I can't beleive you guys are fighting about whether U2 or Green Day are better. They are both good and people are allowed to have their own opinions so just shut up already!
    uh....no offense? :-)

General CommentWell...I have one question...how are people saying U2 sucks? First of all, U2 is a much better band than Green Day. Every album U2 released is a classic. Green Day are good, but please don't compare them to U2. I mean, U2 have been doing this for about 25 years...and are still making great music.

General CommentI wasn't sure how I felt about U2 performing with Green Day because there's a gap in their skill levels, IMHO. But it's a great song.

I think it's fairly obvious what it's about too, especially if you watch the music video.
