Hey God, why are you doing this to me?
Am I not living up to what I'm supposed to be?
Why am I seething with this animosity?
Hey God, I think you owe me a great big apology

Terrible lie
Terrible lie
Terrible lie
Terrible lie

Hey God, I really don't know what you mean
Seems like salvation comes only in our dreams
I feel my hatred grow all the more extreme
Hey God, can this world really be as sad as it seems?

Terrible lie
Terrible lie
Terrible lie
Terrible lie

Don't take it away from me, I need someone to hold on to
Don't take it away from me, I need you to hold on to
Don't take it away from me, I need someone to hold on to
Don't take it, don't take it, don't take it...

Hey God
Hey God
Hey God
Hey God...

Hey God, there's nothing left for me to hide
I lost my ignorance, my security and pride
I'm all alone in this fucking world you must despise
Hey God, I believed your promises, your promises and lies

Terrible lie...
Terrible lie...
Terrible lie

You make me throw it all away
My morals left to decay
How many you betray
You've taken everything
My head is filled with disease
My skin is begging you, please
I'm on my hands and knees
I want so much to believe

Hey God
Hey God...
Hey God

General CommentAnimasId462 is the only one who said a comment that didn't make me want to vomit.

This shouldn't even BE here. Anyone who comments here deserves to be punished for supporting this lame ass cause!

General CommentWhoa, whoa, whoa. There aren't many bands that have enough credibility to have someone say that it's better than Tool than without some snarky Tool fanboy elitist cut them down and try to make them look like idiots, but Nine Inch Nails should be one of them.

And how come people can't see Tool covering a Nine Inch Nails song?

Ah well. I just wonder how Tapeworm would've been.

General Commentaye, although i agree that it probably isnt actually tool:
    trent reznor has done many side projects;
including one with a perfect circle ie tool
that was known as "project tapeworm".
    so its deffo a possibility.

and btw... nine inch nails is the best band ever :D
    with tool is just xDD

General CommentThis song is amazing. It's a really beautiful song. Whereas Terrible Lie by Nine Inch Nails is more angry sounding, in this version, the singer sounds sad and remorseful. I honestly do like this version better than the original because I think the tune and mood better fits the words. If you listen to the two versions, you'll get two totally different meanings from the songs. And I just think that the meaning I get from this one better fits the actual words, much as I love the original as well. Like the original, I think it's about anyone, as well as God, betraying your trust, and how you want so much to believe them and in them, but you can't, as much as it hurts you. This is one of the best songs ever. I love it.

General CommentI think is song is incredible-the words totally fit the mood and this song envokes a lot of emotion

However I doubt that Tool did it, I would like to know who did it--probably some dude playing an accoustic guitar, recording it onto his comp, and then putting it on the net).
