What do I say?
On this January day
When all my thoughts have gone astray
But I'm thinking 'bout you

And what do I do?
When I'm black and I'm blue?
And I'm still loving you
But I know it was meant to end

Oh, I'm missing you
Or maybe I'm just missing you
I was when I was with you

Oh love, Oh love,
Oh won't you come again?
Take me in your arms and hold me
Make me feel new again

And how do I convey
All the words that I could never say
To you when you were around

Oh, I'm missing you
Or maybe I'm just missing how
I felt when I was with you

Oh love, Oh love,
Oh won't you come again?
Take me in your arms and dance with me
Make me feel alive again

Oh love, Oh love,
Oh won't you come again?
Take me in your arms
And hold me
Make me wanna laugh and sing
Make me wanna feel alive again

    This song is beautiful.

It's about being in love with how you were in love with someone. Each person brings out certain qualities in us; some that are poetic and transcendental while some, horrible and mundane.

But the person here is thinking about one of or thee greatest love in their life...the kind of love that made them believe again, made them feel alive again.

And you have to wonder...is she in love with the person themself or the IDEA of that person. She hints a little bit to her object of affection and lamentation: " or maybe I'm just missing who I was when I was with you."

This person has already "moved on" and has probably dated other people only to find that nobody has conjured or elicited that same grand "falling in love feeling" as the first/greatest love did.

The greatest thing you will ever learn is to love and be loved in return!

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

Just A Little Lovin'

I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
