"Milkman's Son" as written by Whitfield Crane and Dave Fortman....
Let the burning bridges tumble down,
Let the water come and flood the ground,
Burn a hole into this auburn sky,
I only wanna be walking by your side.

When I see tomorrow I see you there,
When I look around I see you everywhere,
Your face is etched into my mind,
And when it's all said and done,
I'm feeling like the milkman's son.

Let your dark spirits fly away,
Come again but you won't count again,
Spend the last time of my worthless life,
I only wanna be walking by your side.

When I see tomorrow I see you there,
When I look around I see you everywhere,
Your face is etched into my mind,
And when it's all said and done,
I'm feeling like the milkman's son.

General CommentI think I finally figured out it's "Spend the lasting of my worthless time" instead of "Spend the last time of my worthless life"... too late, I had already posted :-P
    great song, great band
... no idea what's wrong with being the son of a milkman, though.... hahaha....

General CommentBack decades ago it was quite common for a man to bring deliveries of fresh milk to your door everyday. People used to joke about the housewives having affairs with the milkman, therefore a milkman's son would be an illegitimate child.

Some people have though that maybe this song is refering to him feeling like an outcast, but when I would listen to the song, it never quite fit with the rest of the lyrics or the tone of the song. All these years I didn't understand what the heck he may have meant by "feeling like the milkman's son".

But then all of a sudden tonight I got a thought about the saying "In the land of milk & honey" & thought maybe he was refereing to this saying, therefore he is saying that he feels fortunate.
