[You are about to see a fight.
The combatants prepare themselves both physically and mentally for the duel that lays ahead of them.
If you've ever seen a fight before, be it live or staged, chances are that you've witnessed it through film or television.
Skill, form, strength, power, speed, and charisma are but a few of the ingredients that make a fighter stand out among his peers.
So, if you thought that all fighters were same, think again, and prepare to be educated.]

Who the fuck are you?

The question is now, "Who the fuck are you?"
You're looking good with your eyes both black and blue
So step in front and enjoy a little taste
I'm gonna wipe that smile right off your face
Well what it is, what it aint's for you to choose
Either way, one way you're gonna lose
You'll search and search for something you'll never find
And as it is man you're running on borrowed time
The time's passed, too late to plead the fifth
You're free to choose, well that's a fucking myth
Well what d'you see when you're laying upon your back
So step back, don't need no more your flak

My mama said that there’d be days like this
And now I’m pissed so watch for my angry fists
It's what you get man, it's on, it's overdue
The finger’s pointing right straight at you

You ain't fine man, trippin' outta your mind
Sit back, relax, now take your fucking Prozac
You ain't fine man, trippin' outta your mind
Sit back, relax, now take your fucking Prozac
You ain't fine man, trippin' outta your mind
Sit back, relax, now take your fucking Prozac
You ain't fine man, trippin' outta your mind

Take this sugar and spice and everything nice
Now step back and don’t make me tell you twice
To get your ass right out of my fucking face
Before we put you right back in your goddamn place
You walk around with an air of arrogance
But when exposed, man we'll see it for ignorance
I’m freaked out and I got you running scared
My eyes are blurred, not clear, I'm seeing red

My mama said that there’d be days like this
And now I’m pissed so watch for my angry fists
It's what you get man, it's on, it's overdue
The finger’s pointing right straight at you

You ain't fine man, trippin' outta your mind
Sit back, relax, now take your fucking Prozac
You ain't fine man, trippin' outta your mind
Sit back, relax, now take your fucking Prozac
You ain't fine man, trippin' outta your mind
Sit back, relax, now take your fucking Prozac
You ain't fine man, trippin' outta your fuckin' mind

[Prepare to be educated.]

My mama said that there'd be days like this
And now I'm pissed so watch for my angry fists
It's what you get man, it's on, it's overdue
My finger's pointing right straight at you

You ain't fine man, trippin' outta your mind
Sit back, relax, now take your fucking Prozac
You ain't fine man, trippin' outta your mind
Sit back, relax, now take your fucking Prozac
You ain't fine man, trippin' outta your mind
Sit back, relax, now take your fucking Prozac
You ain't fine man, trippin' outta your mind
Sit back, relax, now take your fucking Prozac (do what)
Sit back, relax, now take your fucking Prozac (do what)
Sit back, relax, now take your fucking Prozac (do what)

The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”
