Fell pass the cheekbone here to a piece of the floor,
The hope of the world in an awkward spill.
Oh, she lie on her bed and stare into harsh white light,
And think that her hearts not right.
Cause love take her hand like a thief,
Took her heart like a robber.
And the feelings that scare her become hurriedly.

Just let me run where I want to run.
Just let me love who I want.
Just let me run where I want to run.
Just let me love who I want.

In a flash her heart is slain, you have to ask in all this pain.
Was your heart too soft? Was your love in vain?
Was your kiss too weak? Were your eyes too tired?
And much too young to be in love?
And much too young to be in love?

Just let me run where I want to run.
Just let me love who I want.
Just let me run where I want to run.
Just let me love who I want.
Just let me run where I want to run.
Just let me love who I want.

Cause there are no rules for this love.
Just keep your head and don't give up.
Or call the fools who date smart.
Lose your head just for your heart.
Just for your heart.

My OpinionThis prob isnt what Aaron meant when he was writing it, but this song really struck a chord with me dealing with my own sexuality.
"Oh, she lie on her bed and stare into harsh white light,
And think that her hearts not right"
I've done that many times wondering what the hell was wrong with me because of me being gay.
But I'm slowly coming to terms with it.
Just let me love who i want
    pretty much fits my situation.
Golly, Copeland... the things you do.

    General CommentThis song is beautiful.
Like one of the people that commented above (two years ago), I also think that it's about a woman who is torn between two men.

"Just let me run where I want to run.
Just let me love who I want."
That's the woman saying it. She doesn't want to have to choose, but she'll have to end it eventually.

"Was your heart too soft? Was your love in vain?
Was your kiss too weak? Were your eyes too tired?"
It's the guy asking the questions, to himself.

    The woman's torn about it
And he is too since he's losing her to another man.

    Copeland is perfect.

General CommentThis song seems to be about someone who had a bad relationship because she tried to trust her heart but ended up broken. Now she's questioning every feeling in her heart since it led her to such pain before, but she desperately wants to push all her thoughts aside and go for what *feels* right.

General Comment"Lose your head just for your heart."
She obviously knew something/someonemostlikey wasnt going to work out or would be bad for her, her head told her so. In her heart she just wanted love and went for it.

General CommentI believe this song is (as the title states) a woman who is in a relationship with one man, and falls in love with another and is then torn between the two:

i.e. : "Just let me run where I want to run.
Just let me love who I want."

pretty basic but the way he states all this within the music is how the beauty is found.

General CommentI say I have to agree with shejustwantstorock. This song really hits the stop, for I found myself in this very situation. I followed my heart and now it's in pieces, and the other guy found someone new. If I had only followed my head perhaps I would still have my heart too.

General CommentI feel that this song is about someone who had their heart deeply broken. The part that goes "Just let me run where I want to run." shows that they want to escape the feelings of hurt that they are having and that they would like to get away from everything going on around them. When they say "Just let me love who I want." sounds like they are yelling or talking to God saying they want a relationship to work out. The last verse that starts "Cause there are no rules for this love." sounds like someone is is telling them that they will get through their time of grief and that this is just the nature of love.

General Commenti was sitting here and it came to me that maybe this song is about Mary and her acceptance of the news that she would bear child (Jesus,) and what his life would mean.

"Oh, she lie on her bed and stare into harsh white light,
And think that her hearts not right." she questioned why she was chosen out of all girls in the world.

"In a flash her heart is slain, you have to ask in all this pain"
she knew He came to this world to die...

"Cause there are no rules for this love." Gods love is unlike any other... pain or pleasure... its the only truth.

General Commentto me, this song means just following your heart, no matter what the risk is. and that love really beats all. there are no rules in love, and no one should tell who where to go or who to love. and that i should lose my head for my heart. always trust your heart, you know? and even if you end up broken hearted, always know that you DID something and that you FELT something and you can always start again if you keep your head up.

follow what you love, think along the way, but dont let it hold you back.
