"I Know Where You Sleep" as written by and Emilie Autumn....
I know, the sickening thoughts that slither around your head
I know, the gluttonous guilt that buried me in your bed
Manipulate me if you can, go on and fool me like your biggest fan

I know, the arrogant pride that poisons the truth you hear
I know, the bigoted tongue that tears apart all your fears
Pontificate, you faded star, go on and show them who you really are

You can lie to the papers
You can hide from the press
You can fake it on stage
Crawl from your cage
Search and destroy
You can kill and depend on it
I know your tainted flesh
I know your filthy soul
I know each trick you played
Whore you laid
Dream you stole
I know the bed in the room in the wall
In the house where you got what you wanted and ruined it all
I know the secrets that you keep
I know where you sleep

I know, the illness behind the image that you create
I know, the tedious need to turn all your love into hate
You poor pathetic paranoid, is it just me or do you secretly enjoy it?

You can lie to the papers
(You can lie)
You can hide from the press
(You can hide)
You can fake it on stage
(Fake)
Crawl from your cage
(Crawl)
Search and destroy
(Search)
You can kill and depend on it
(Kill)
I know your tainted flesh
(You can hide)
I know your filthy soul
(You can hide)
I know each trick you played
(You can fake it if you try)
Whore you laid
Dream you stole
I know the bed in the room in the wall
In the house where you got what you wanted and ruined it all
I know the secrets that you keep
I know where you sleep

Sleep, Sleep, Sleep

You play the victim very well
You build yourself indulgent hell
You wanted someone to understand you
Well be careful what you wish for because I do
You've got a fancy turn of phrase
You set your trap
You made your plays
You're so fond of games
You must never lose
Funny how the only one in your bed is you

You can lie to the papers
You can hide from the press
You can lie to the papers
You can hide from the press
(Fake, crawl, search, kill)
You can lie to the papers
You can hide from the press
Fake, crawl, search, kill

Oh my god, Oh my god
I touched you
I can never live it down
I can never live it down
God save the queen
I loved you
I can never live it down
I can never live it down
Oh, oh, I fucked you
I can never live it down
I can never live it down
I can never live it down

I know the sickening thoughts that slither around your head
I know the gluttonous guilt that buried me in your - shh! - bed

You can lie to the papers
You can hide from the press
You can fake it on stage
Crawl from your cage
Search and destroy
You can kill and depend on it
I know your tainted flesh
I know your filthy soul
I know each trick you played
Whore you laid
Dream you stole
I know the bed in the room in the wall
In the house where you got what you wanted and ruined it
I know the bed in the room in the wall
In the house where you got what you wanted and ruined it
I know the bed in the room in the wall
In the house where you got what you wanted and ruined it all
I know the secrets that you keep
I know where you sleep

I'm wishing you the best of luck and by the way
(Your poetry sucks)
I'm wishing you the best of luck and by the way
(Your poetry sucks)
I'm wishing you the best of luck and by the way
(Your poetry sucks)
I'm wishing you the best of luck and by the way

General CommentI always thought this was about someone who was charmed into hopping into bed with a person only to discover the next morning that the person wasn't who she'd thought they were. Someone with a good reputation, very popular with the papers and press. She then goes to discover that this man has done it with a lot of people, but they're never believed. The only problem is that this particular girl isn't like the other meek ones and, even if the papers and the press don't believe her, she'll do something about it.

General Commentthe white supremecist view is very...different. But a lot of the forum members think its about Billy Corgan. Supposedly they dated a while.
"You can crawl from your cage" refers to "Despite all my rage, I am still just a rat in a cage" and "by the way, your poetry sucks" refers to Billy's poetry book Blinking With Fists.

General Commenti think this song is about a person who was the biggest fan of a megastar, being a pretty girl she got backstage and welll...
afterwards she gets discarded and disenchanted, finding out about his sordid secrets and hidden paranoia's behind the mask of his stardom she sets out to expose him.

its allmost a lyrical version of sara's face, but with a very jaded and vindictive sara.

General CommentI agree that this song is about a past lover, but I think it's also about someone who was famous (to some degree) at one point. Mostly because she says thing "you faded star", "lie to the papers, hide from the press" "fake it on stage", etc. Also, when she says "whore you laid, dream you stole", she is probably talking about groupies.

General CommentIt's about her relationship and breakup with Billy Corgan, of Smashing Pumpkins fame. They dated briefly.

General CommentEmilie Autumn is who she is, I see no point in trying to understand the meanings of her
songs. Only she would truly know what her songs mean & what they mean to her, the only
meaning that can come from you is what the songs means to you.
Most of you are posting opinions of what you believe the song is about, phrases such as
'this song means this to me'(with the this' replaced).
So really all I'm saying is that for you to go & say no you are completely wrong to some-
one else, when you don't particulary no what the song is about yourself is supid, to say
    the least.

General CommentThis song is indeed about her relationship with Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins. If one reads her book "The Asylum for Wayward Victorian Girls", she pretty much says it. (It's heavily implied, and she doesn't use names; however, it's fairly obvious listening to the lyrics after reading the book)

General CommentI agree with the Billy Corgan one..
Seeing as Emilie is still a relatively unknown artist [much to my despair] its not likely that the song is about paparazzi or what not..
And i dont believe Emilie is a lesbian either? Could be? But i dont think so.

The billy corgan one makes more sense, they did date at some point, and i think its about how she is warning him, you fucked with me, i know everything. Be careful.
Like a sweet love/revenge type thing.

Well, its an amazing song from an amazing artist.
    Much love.

General CommentThis song IS indeed, as a few of you have said, about Billy Corgan.
She's said so herself. [citation needed- can't find it...]
The "crawl from your cage" comes from his book of poetry. She knows some of the "whores... laid" because she is fond of Courtney Love, who was one of his on/off girlfriends- any Autumn fan would know that Emilie worked with Love.

(Though, being a Kurt Cobain fan, I'm not going to comment on my opinions of Love..)

    Hehe. Sorry. x
    Off track 'ere~

General Commentby the way, the words/phrases she uses in this song are very awesome and ... descriptive? best word i can think of.
"Sickening thoughts that Slither... Gluttonous guilt that buried me... Bigoted tongue... illness behind the image... tedious need..."
    A very powerful song.
