"Save You" as written by and Emilie Autumn....
How do I save you from a fate so sweet
As being torn to pieces by a loving hand
How do I save you from a voice so soft
As that which acquiesces to your each demand
How do I look upon the eyes I love
And send them down this path, I know it isn't right
How do I make you realize my love
That there is more to fear than strangers in the night

How do I save you
How do I set you free
Behind the curtain waits a darker world
If I can't make you leave
How can I save you from me

I think you've had enough experience
To differentiate between a heart of gold
And what you cradle in your gentle arms
Can you not recognize a soul already sold
How do I save you from the things I've been
I can't deny the past, it's written on my face
How do I save you from the mess you're in
When I can't make you leave this torturous embrace

How do I save you
How do I set you free
Behind the curtain waits a darker world
If I can't make you leave
How can I save you from me

General CommentShe seems to be singing to a guy that she loves but wants him to go away so that she can't hurt him. Possibly she thinks she's going to hurt him because she likes another guy - 'Can you not recognize a soul already sold?' - but it might just be that she thinks he's going to be hurt solely because of who she has become.

General CommentIts again, like most of her songs, about living mentally unstable, and not wishing once self the best. Feeling that one can not live up to the most common things. Not having strenght to take care of oneself, and impossibly other people.

Really loving someone so badly, that you'd give up your own contact to them, if it would mean they would be happy.

General CommentI think she's done some pretty incriminating stuff in the past-probably slept around and stuff like that-and now she's terrified that he'll find out about it and will be hurt.

General CommentIt is a question one must wonder about the line "can you not recognize a soul already sold?"

Meaning 1) She's sold her soul to the devil... aka done some bad things

Meaning 2) She's already engaged, married, something like that... she loves this man, but she's already with someone else.

Song MeaningTo me, it's saying how she loves someone that much, that she can't stand by and watch them be hurt by her. or be victim to her. She has low self esteem and believes that she's going to continue hurting that person if she stays with them. Her lover worships them but she's saying how they could do much better, and they've been through so much that they should understand that she's not right for them. At least that's what it's like to me.

General CommentYes, this song embodies elements of Twilight and such, but it's a theme that's found throughout history: You try to stop the one you love from loving you because, should you stay together, they'll get hurt because of decisions you've made in the past, or something along those lines. And you love them so much, you'd rather suffer alone than have them share in it. And its so hard to let them go because you've finally found what you were looking for and you have to force it away to protect it from yourself; which is rather ironic. Altogether a very emotional, heart-aching piece of music that many can relate to. It's fantastic.

General Commenti love this song, to me it seems like she's saying that she's bad for him and that he should leave because she doesn't want to hurt him.

when it says 'can you not recognise a soul already sold?' i think she's referring to selling her soul to the devil, that she's a bad person, or she's done bad things in the past, basically just telling him she's bad for him but she loves him.

General CommentAlthough all these comments have sound logic, I think it might be about her abortion. She didn't want her child to be bipolar too, but at the same time she didn't want it to die.
