"Pretty In Pink" as written by John Ashton, Richard Lofthouse Butler, Timothy Butler, Duncan Kilburn, Roger Morris and Vincent Davey....
Caroline laughs and
It's raining all day
She loves to be one of the girls
She lives in the place
In the side of our lives
Where nothing is
Ever put straight

She turns herself round
And she smiles and she says
'This is it'
'That's the end of the joke'
And loses herself
In her dreaming and sleep
And her lovers walk
Through in their coats

She's...
Pretty in pink
Isn't she?
Pretty in pink
Isn't she?

All of her lovers
All talk of her notes
And the flowers
That they never sent
And wasn't she easy
And isn't she
Pretty in pink

The one who insists
He was first in the line
Is the last to
Remember her name
He's walking around
In this dress
That she wore
She is gone
But the joke's the same

She's...
Pretty in pink
Isn't she?
Pretty in pink
Isn't she?

Caroline talks to you
Softly sometimes
She says
'I love you' and
'Too much'
She doesn't have anything
You want to steal
Well
Nothing you can touch

She...waves
She buttons your shirt
The traffic
Is waiting outside
She hands you his coat
She gives you her clothes
These cars collide

She's...
Pretty in pink
Isn't she?
Pretty in pink
Isn't she?

General CommentIt's a great cover because it's about what Amanda often talks about...a female who is easy to sleep with who is a joke to most people even the ones who slept with her. Poor Caroline. As for the title...I don't see the corralation to the movie Pretty in Pink...oh well.

General CommentThe last bits not in my song...

I love this song. It's obviously about a girl who's easy to sleep with, but it's not making her sound bad at all. Infact, to me, it makes her seem very innocent.

General CommentShe's "pretty in pink" because she is pretty when she is naked. Or at least that is what I think it means.

General CommentIt almost sounds like she's a 'working girl', if you know what I mean. Great song though:D

General Commenti've only heard a cover of this song by the national, but these are the only lyrics i can find so i'm going to say that in the cover by the national "these cars collide" sounds like "these cost a lot" and i thought it had to do with cross dressing or something because of the other reference in the song about the guy in the dress LOL

i thought they were like trading clothes idk~
