We are young..
Heartache to heartache
We stand..
No promises..
No demands...
Love is a battlefield

(Chorus)
We are strong
No one can tell us were wrong
Searching our hearts for so long
Both of us knowing love is a battlefield

(Samantha)
Love is a complicated thing sometimes
It's like a cereal box toy hard to find
Your heart is a delicate device it's true
And a pain in your butt when Cupid's arrow strikes you
Then your whole world is turned upside down
As you fall for the feelings of your true love found
That's all ya think about it's on your mind
24 - 7 gray matter in a bind
Then you seem to live a life in a magic place
But if love becomes lost then begins the heartache
Then all the positive energy you feel
Turns to sadness as the world loses its appeal
But one thing I must say to those who take a fall
It's better to have loved once then not at all
So follow your heart and don't ever yield
But watch out cause love is a battlefield

(Chorus)
We are young
Heartache to heartache we stand
No promises no demands
Love is a battlefield
Love is a battlefield

I know this boy in my class who is kinda cute
But when I try to talk I become a mute
I wonder does he even know that I'm alive
As my feelings become all twisted inside
Thats when I find that love is not fair
When you have a crush on someone who doesn't know you're there
Then I got these other guys talkin' to me
Sending notes everyday tryin' to get ta know me
I act nice but they really ain't my type
At my age most boys I'd rather fight
They think they're all that hangin' with a crew actin' rude
Then I make em disappear poof with that attitude
But to that nice guy not beggin' for a black eye
Don't let shy girls like me pass you by
But for now my feelings shall remain concealed
'Cause its hit or miss when love is a battlefield

(Chorus)
We are strong
No one can tell us were wrong
Searching our hearts for so long
Both of us knowing love is a battlefield

To my cat Stinky I love you and miss you
I wish I could have saved you from the car that hit you
If I could I would visit you in the sky
Show up at heaven's gate with some tuna surprise
Our love wouldn't fill a balloon as big as the moon
I'm so sad that you had to depart so soon
I pray to God at night to send you all my love
Sometimes I feel you in my room from heaven above
Love is like a souble bladed two edged sword
It brings happiness and all the sadness you can afford
But this is the lost love that hurts the most
And I know many feel it from coast to coast
To those who have lost someone dear to heart
Just remember they'll be watching you from afar
Protectin' throughout life with an angel's shield
As your tears prove why love is a battlefield

(Chorus)
We are young
Heartache to heartache we stand
No promises no demands
Love is a battlefield
We are strong
No one can tell us were wrong
Searching our hearts for so long
Both of us knowing love is a battlefield

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.
