Daddy's Eyes

I think this is obviously about an ilagitamite child not just a divorce or break up, I can't decide exactly which woman or child he is referring to in the song though. I think though it's about a man who has a normal life with a wife but his marriage got stale and they grew apart so he started having an affair which ended in the other woman getting pregnant, I think his wife found him cheating red handed " I got up a little too late to lie" I think its either this way round and he stays with his wife and the boy he is talking to is his illigitite child or its the other way round where he leaves his wife and child for the other woman can't quite decide

People gonna tell you lies Don't let it comes as a surprise. - this bit makes me think hes talking to his illigitamite child because other kids will say the man is not his dad That woman's on my back again. - his marriage is going bad she is nagging which drove him to an affair I know she's got the best intention - he feels bad about feeling that way about his wife When you began to relize You know, got your daddy's eyes

And there's something I wanna say: I love her too. - loves the other woman too although this makes me think hes talking to his wifes child because he is saying although he loves the child he loves this other woman and his other child too And all of this has got nothing to do with you - the affair and him leaving has nothing to do with his son because he still loves him And I'd like to stay but I can't because I've been fooling around - leaving for th other woman And I know that you called because you never even knew that it was hurting me When you put it on the other hand. You're old enough to understand That glove will bring it all the light - seeing it from my view will make sense of it I didn't say that made it right. when your older you will realise marriage and relatipnships aren't simple and you will understand why i am leaving even though that doesnt make what i'm going right

Sometimes people get tird, sometimes marriages doon't always last and people fall out of love And I woke up a little too late to lie phe got caught cheating red handed And dreams should last a long time marriages are a dream of a life and they should last but people fall out of love and marriages fail This is not what I'd call goodbye he will still see his son

now i've gone through it all i think he is talking to his legitamite son with his wife who he has fallen out of love with and has been having an affair with another woman who i think he has gotten pregnant because of the emphasis on children in the song because its called daddys eyes. he is telling his son the truth that he is leaving the sons mum (his wife) for another woman and he wants to tell him properly because there are rumours going round. He doesn't love his wife anymore because sometimes relationships fail and people give each other too much grief etc he got tired and had an affair and how he has to leave because she caugh him and he has been fooling around. I think his son is quite young and is mad and called him and shouted at him because he doesnt think he cares but his son is too young to relate to relationships and although he loves his son he lovs the other woman too. to me tht makes perfet sense
