"Statues Without Eyes" as written by and Matthew Devine Jonathan Radtke....
Lost and winter's on the way
And the air is caving in
And the streets are crumbling
But you are with me

Under the downtown city lights
We become statues without eyes
Barely audible, we're frozen in time
I have you where I want you

Oh, I need to look away
When the jets are overhead
And the storm is closing in
Yeah something is happening

Beneath the modern cold high rise
We become statues without eyes
Stand at attention, they all align
I have you where I want you

Then it all aligns, it all aligns
I have you where I want you
We are statues without eyes
We were statues without eyes
We are statues without eyes

General CommentI fel like this song is about two really good friends, and one is in love with the other. But they don't want to say anything because they are afraid of losing the friendship. that's why they need to look away, and they are "Statues without eyes" because they're trying not to look at the other. "It all aligns" and "I have you where I want you" could mean that they feel so close to the one friend, when they're together everything seems perfect. But then "they are statues without eyes" again because they don't want anything to change. Similarly this is why they are "frozen in time," and "barely audible." Just one take on the song. It could probably have other meanings if you look enough. I just get a bittersweet feeling from it, maybe because that's what I'm feeling at the moment.

General CommentThis has to be my favourite song off the new album. And I like silverdove's explanation, I never really thought about the song in that way.

General CommentThis song paints a picture of like the end of the world scenario. Statues without eyes might signify a lost soul...blind lovers...who knows. Its an awesome song for reflecting.

My InterpretationI think that this song could be about two lovers that don't see anything but each other, sort of like they're blinded by love. It seems that they're content, as long as they're with each other, and they are stuck in them moment. "Frozen in time" Some parts sort of throw me off, "I need to look away when the jets are overhead and the storm is closing in" I'm a bit unsure about it, but this song is very beautiful. The lyrics could be taken literally, but I think that there is a deeper meaning. I get kind of a romantic and steady, yet almost sad feel when I listen to this song. I also like silverdove's interpretation. Very thought provoking. Really, there could be many meanings for this song.

I don't understand why it's not as popular. I think it's one of the best off the album.

My InterpretationOkay, I'm back again! I just got help on interpreting the meaning of the song, so here's another one. Like I said on my other comment, it's two people that see nothing but each other. It's sort of like the end of the world sort of thing, but to these two people, (friends, family, lovers) nothing else matters, what matters is that they are with each other even though the world is crumbling around them, sort of.
