Waking up without you
it's all in my head
I roll over to touch you, and see a horse's head
How did I arouse you with Keanu's face
How well did I endow you at Dirk Diggler's pace
How do you entice me with Beyoncé's face?
And when you slice and dice me
It's like Will and Grace

If I keep doing it my way
And you keep doing it your way
If I keep doing it my way
And you keep doing it your way
If I keep singing it my way
And you keep screaming it your way
We end up taking the highway
So let's try doing it my way and we'll be fine

Go to sleep without me
It's all in your head
Four glasses of NyQuil
Well burn up your bed

you keep on doing it your way
you keep on doing it your way
I keep on doing it my way
I keep on doing it my way
You keep on doing it your way
You keep on doing it your way
I keep on doing it my way
I keep on drinking the hard way

How do you despise me in a Michael Bolton way
I guess I might despise you like Meg Ryan's face
And how I deified you like j'los cheeks
And how you victimized me like R. Kelly's babes

I keep on doing it my way
I keep on doing it my way
You keep on doing it your way
You keep on doing it your way
If I keep singing it my way
And you keep screaming it your way
Both be taking the highway
So let's try doing it my way and we'll be fine

Watch the credits rolling
Can we be friends or is this the end?

General Comment"deified you like j'los cheeks"
deify means to make godlike, its the ass.
thsi might have something to do with how significant others might remind you of someone else. a lot of girls say you remind me of balh blah blah. whatever

General Commenti think this song is from the POV of god and god is talking about the influence of entertainment and the true meanings of the architypes that are placed in entertainment, he is asking throughout the song if he has gotten to you yet, like dont you see what i'm trying to tell you? but knowing you dont.

    My Interpretation-------------------------------------------------
waking up without you, it's all in my head
I roll over to touch you and see a horse's head
how did I arouse you with Keanu's face?
how well did I endow you at Dirk Diggler's pace?
how do you entice me with Beyonce's face?
but when you slice and dice me, it's like Will and Grace?

if I keep doin' it my way, and you keep doin' it your way
if I keep singin' it my way, and you keep screamin' it your way
we won't be takin' the high way, so let's try doin' it our way
    and we'll be fine

goin' to sleep without me, it's all in your head
four glasses of Nyquil won't warm up your bed
you keep on doin' it your way, you keep on doin' it your way
I keep on doin' it my way, I keep on doin' it my way
you keep on doin' it your way, you keep on doin' it your way
I keep on doin' it my way, I keep on takin' the high way

how do you despise me in a Michael Bolton way?
guess how I despise you like Meg Ryan's face
and how I deify you like J-Lo's cheeks
and how you victimize me like R-Kelly's babes

if I keep doin' it my way, and you keep doin' it your way
if I keep singin' it my way, and you keep screamin' it your way
we won't be takin' the high way, so let's try doin' it our way
    and we'll be fine

watch the credits rolling, can't we be friends?
    or is this the end?

Basically, the song is about a couple who are at a point in their relationship where they fight constantly. They go through the same conflicts over and over again because they're not being themselves. Instead, they put on masks that are handed down to them from the TV.. from celebrities. They've basically become meme processors and have built their identities around those memes ("monkey see, monkey do"). They are so wrapped up in their fake identities that they cannot change and compromise to make things better for themselves ("let's try doin' it our way, and we'll be fine").

One of the funniest songs I've ever heard.. love it!
