Bathroom stalls and backseats
Roadside motels is where they'll meet
Will they ever learn, ever learn?

Clothes hit the floor before you blink
Her naked heart begins to sink
Forget her name with one more drink
Will they ever learn, ever learn?
Will they ever learn, ever learn?

He's gone before the morning
And he's gone before the morning
You're never gonna see the dawning
Of this beautiful day
Of this beautiful day

My baby's eyes, they don't lie
They got what you've been trying to find
And we found it on the way

So did the thought cross your mind
That there is something more to life
Than bed sheets and blankets full of lies?
Will they ever learn, ever learn?
Will they ever learn, ever learn?

He's gone before the morning
And he's gone before the morning
You're never gonna see the dawning
Of this beautiful day
He's gone before the morning
And he's gone before the morning
You're never gonna see the dawning
Of this beautiful day
Of this beautiful day

Five to one, to five to one, to one to five
The lies, the lust, the trust
The random, loveless fucks
The lust, the lust, the lust, the lust, the lust
The shorter the skirt, the greater the fame

He's gone before the morning
And he's gone before the morning
You're never gonna see the dawning
Of this beautiful day
He's gone before the morning
And he's gone before the morning
You're never gonna see the dawning
Of this beautiful day
Of this beautiful day
Of this beautiful day
Of this beautiful day

General Commentyeah i've always listened to it as

    he's gone before the morning
and he's gone before the mourning

because he leaves before she's awake. he never sees her regret it.

General CommentI think it's about a girl who just needs closeness. She gets wasted and has one night stands but she really believes whoever she's with loves her at least for right then at least for that moment. Then they're gone before the morning and she'll never learn. She'll either die from drinking, STD's, or still be having one night stands at 70.

General Commentfrom Ryan Hunter of Envy on the Coast:
"This song is basically about all the constant debauchery that I saw go on constantly amongst the people in my high school. It's specifically about these 6 girls who basically portrayed themselves as these deified untouchables that should be looked up to, when in actuality they had more problems and issues with themselves and their morals in general than anyone could wrap their head around. The sin of lust was always something that interested me."

General Commentabout the five to one:
" It's about those 6 girls...as I watched one of them try to get her life together and leave the debauchery, the drugs, and the overall shitty lifestyle that followed the six of them; she was met with scorn from her so-called friends who didn't respect her decisions therefore proving that the friendships we're based upon false foundations, hence the line that follows..."the lies, the lust, the trust, the random loveless xxxx..." you get it."

General Commenti completely love this song because i can relate to it so easily. i know exactly what it's like to wake up wishing last night hadn't happened and yet still making the same mistakes again and again. It's so crazy how people will let themselves be used sometimes just because it's easier than fighting. In my experience, it really hasn't caught up to me yet, but i'm always afraid someday it will

that makes more sense. the feeling he seems to be communicating is that this random dude his gf just slept with left before the morning, before she regrets what they did. before she mourns the loss, mourns the fact that she just did what she did.

General CommentThe title, "Green Eye's Don't Lie" is saying that like her eyes are green (like for "go ahead") and they're not really lying, but she doesn't know it because she is so drunk.
