"We Stand" as written by and Michael Martin Jeanne Sagan....
As if this could change us
Our roots are deeper than that

Born and bred the masters of
Ourselves
And of our hearts

Take the best of me and
Watch my world fall apart
Still I remain steadfast in my heart

Walk a darkened road and
We will be our own light
Our foundation our core is strong
Stand for what's right

We stand again, it breaks my heart
The anger burns and I fall apart

Seasons change me,
But they won't change my core
I have struggled I've fought for less
Still this I know

Belief within my self
Shall drive me further on
Still I fear that the past remains
And so shall I

General CommentI think this might be about ATR maybe fighting with their record label, because they might be trying to change their sound, and ATR responds by saying "As if this could change us. Our roots are deeper than that.", and ATR saying they could do just as good or better on their own.

General Commentgreat song...all of all that remains' choruses seem to make me love each song even more...the singing is great.
i agree strongly with estar muerto about the meaning of the song...
phil is very spiritual and deep with his lyrics.

All That Remains is an exellent band, so theyd better keep it up!

General CommentFor some reason, this sounds extremely like Killswitch Engage, almost as if Howard (lead vocalist) from Killswitch Engage were in this one.

KSE and All That Remains are good friends I hear, and the lead singer, Phil, I think, wanted to be in KSE. Howard got the part but Phil was a runner up.

General CommentTo Psikou...if you're wondering anything about The Massachusettes Bands...KSE, A.T.R, Shadows Fall, etc...Go find KSE's DVD World Ablaze, the documentary on the DVD will tell you all you need to know about these bands and how they've all been in each others bands since they started playing...lol. Howard did sing on this track...as many others on all of A.T.R's ablums and Phil sings on most KSE albums...

To me, since Phil is all spiritual with his writing and life style, im thinking and feeling that this song is speaking of how no matter what lies in your past or what you've done, you have to live with it, you have to deal with it, you did it, it's no one's fault but yours...but that doesn't mean you have to let it kill you inside...you're stronger than your mistake and you have the will/determination to go on and be a better person cause of your mistakes...if you find the will/determination within yourself.

Neither is Howard on this song, nor is anyone else but Phil Labonte on any other ATR song. It's the other way around, Phil is on AOJB by KsE and TEOH, too. Just listen to the background shouts after the first chorus of self revolution by kse.

this song is about friendship and a true belief in the upright people that are with you.
