Bury your head
Bury your head

I was feeling fine
You'll be coming clean tonight
And I'll be falling down with you once again
Call me your valentine, call me once tonight
And I will then say it's okay

The things you've said, I'm rehearsing them
The things you've said, I'm rehearsing them

They went back on us
(Closed eyes rolled back couldn't step it up)
I could know him to come over when
It's the thought that emerges
(Take back couldn't step it up)
I could never love, your eyes have changed

Bury your head, has the child smashed you down
And the psalms will never call me again
(Fall down below)
I'll sleep tonight
(When you're okay)
And I will then say it's okay

The things you've said, I'm rehearsing them
The things you've said, I'm rehearsing them

They went back on us
(Closed eyes rolled back couldn't step it up)
I could know him to come over when
It's the thought that emerges
(Take back couldn't step it up)
I could never love, your eyes have changed

They will be the ones to see him come
Is this what you call love?

They stole my lies
You write it all
They wandered around and 'round my mouth
They stole my lies
You write it all
Stole it all
They have been the ones to see enough

They went back on us
(Closed eyes rolled back couldn't step it up)
I could know him to come over when
It's the thought that emerges
(Take back couldn't step it up)
I could never love, your eyes have changed

You'll be coming clean tonight

can somebody post the MEANING to the fucking song instead of the classic Cove/Anthony battle?

saosin has songs that are so in depth and I think have more then just one meaning that they are hard to actually come to just one meaning. whatever the meaning is this is a great song, and I think cove is doing the band justice. give him credit those who keep putting him down, he had to fill some big shoes and he is doing and excellent job. not only is he amazing talanted, he is an awesome person. I have met him and his one of the nicest people/band memmber I have met. I don't think people actually realise how amazing, for a guy, his vocal range really is. when he sang seven years although his not anthony and you can't compare the twos vocals he sang it without any troubles and he put his heart and soul in it. good on him I say :)

Everyone stop comparing Anthony to Cove... it's getting so god damn annoying. It's cool to voice your opinions, but this site is called SONG MEANINGS not COMPARING ARTISTS. And anyways, this ongoing feud will obviously never be won by either side, because after all it's an OPINION not a FACT. so stfu you all.

    Song Meaning

I'm basing my meaning off of the ALBUM version of this song, and not these lyrics. I think these lyrics were the demo/EP version.

It's for sure about a girl cheating on him. "I could never love the ion vein" - an ion is when a molecule has one too many protons/electrons, so he's saying the relationship has a 3rd person in it. Closed eyes rolled back, couldn't step it up - she rolls her eyes when he asks about it, and she can't step up and just tell him the truth. I could know what to come on to when it's the thought that emerges - Meaning, he knows he's probably right, because it was just a thought that emerged out of nowhere. They stole my lies so write it all - He questions the people she's cheating on him with, and they admit the truth. He's kinda saying "they came up with the same lies as me?" in a sarcastic way. So he's giving up and telling her to write it all, because he's done with it. They have been the ones who've seen enough - even the strangers she cheats with have seen enough. (Maybe)

Did they really need to change the chorus lyrics? The new 'Your eyes have changed' line just sounds forced.

Honestly, I enjoy this version slightly better. It does sound forced, but it adds such a powerful tone to the entire song.

The audio quality is lacking on this track, Cove's "on top of" the music, if that makes sense. Sounds like karaoke. And when did Saosin become harmonyrock? Can they sing anything without singing it together? It adds a nice feel to the song, but it's over-done. When they changed the lyrics, they ruined the song.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
