I could go back to every laugh
But I don't wanna go there anymore and I
Know all the steps up to your door
But I don't wanna go there anymore

Talk to the wind, talk to the sky
Talk to the man with the reasons why
And let me know what you find

I'll leave my window open
'Cause I'm too tired tonight to call your name
Just know I'm right here hoping
That you'll come in with the rain

I could stand up and sing you a song
But I don't wanna have to go that far and I
I've got you down
I know you by heart
And you don't even know where I start

Talk to yourself, talk to the tears
Talk to the man who put you here
And don't wait for the sky to clear

I'll leave my window open
'Cause I'm too tired tonight to call your name, oh
Just know I'm right here hoping
That you'll come in with the rain

I've watched you so long, screamed your name
I don't know what else I can say

But I'll leave my window open
'Cause I'm too tired at night for all these games
Just know I'm right here hoping
That you'll come in with the rain

I could go back to every laugh
But I don't wanna go there anymore

This song is about a girl that always has her window open for one guy but she’s tired of the games he plays. He probably doesn’t realize that the things he does hurts her. So she’s just going to stop caring hoping that he’ll just naturally come back to her.

I love this song so much. It's my favorite song in the universe.

Taylor is saying that life has woven its way and that she is tired of chasing this one boy; she's tired of making effort and getting no result. She knows now that anything she does will make no difference. She doesn't know what to do, talking to God and herself, wondering how things got to how they were. She's so exhausted of following him, but if he still wants her, she'll be there. She's not in the mood to even try to be happy anymore ("I could go back to every laugh, but I don't want to go there anymore); she's been put down. At the end of the day, she's loyal, but at the moment, she's not in the mindset to be. She's telling herself to keep faith, even though it seems as if she's lost it.

I think this song has the general meaning of letting go of hope and trying to move on from a difficult relationship, while still having that person in your heart and being willing to accept them back in to your life if they put in an effort. I say this because if this was about a boy, i dont see why some girl would sit around waiting for him to finally try. But friends will always be there, as will the friend in this song, even if you pushed them away after they were trying to help you

I think this song is about a girl who holds deep affections for a boy very much, but the boy doesn't feel the same way about her. She tries to do everything to try to please him, to try and get him to feel the same way. But the boy isn't innocent at all. The girl likes him so much that she finds out all the things he likes and tries to please him, hence, "steps to your door". HE knows exactly how she feels for him, and yet, he plays with her, and gives her ideas that they could truly be together. So as he leads her on, she falls more and more in love with him, but when she realises what he was doing all along, she becomes miserable. It could have gone two ways, either she says goodbye to him, or he leaves. Either way, the result becomes that she's not ready to let go, even thought she knows hes no good for her. So she keeps hoping that one day he'd be hers hence "come in with the rain".

This song is so pretty!!!! It's about this girl who's just tired of her guy's games and just wants to let go and she just gives up on him and doesn't want to go back to any memories of him.

see i don't think it's saying that she's given up. i see it as she's tired of chasing him ("i could stand up and sing you a song but i don't wanna have to go that far") but if he comes to her she's still there ("just know i'm right here hoping you'll come in with the rain")

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

American Town
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.
