Well we've had one chance to, take back, but over and over again
I'll clean your wounds tonight, so we can rewind it all 'till I come inside
I'll tear in two and never lie to you (cause you wouldn't take me home)
Your eyes are yet to be clear now (cause you want to take me home)
You were right and I wasn't listening (I never told you what you were missing)

I never wanted to hear (I never wanted to)
We are the only ones we are running from
I never wanted to hear (I never wanted to)
We are the only ones we are running from

Well this was the only way we, knew how to make everything just okay (i'll make it up tonight), the sun was two steps too close with his waking eye
We'll make believe that everythings alright (cause you wouldn't take me home)
Your eyes are yet to be clear now (cause you wouldn't take me home)
You were right and wasn't listening (I never told you what you were missing)

I never wanted to hear (I never wanted to)
We are the only ones we are running from
I never wanted to hear (I never wanted to)
We are the only ones we are running from
I never wanted to hear (I never wanted to)
We are the only ones we are running from
I never wanted to hear, we are the only ones we are running from

I want to break it off, we should stop cause there's nothing going on (on)
I never wanted to hear all the things that you told me
I never wanted to hear (I never wanted to)
We are the only ones we are running from
I never wanted to hear (I never wanted to)
We are the only ones we are running from
I never wanted to hear (I never wanted to)

About wanting to turn back time to fix problems

we've had one chance to take back, but over and over again i'll clean your wounds tonight so we can rewind it all until i come inside

basicly saying that something went wrong between him and someone. Possibly a fight. The speaker wants to rewind everything that happened and just forget everything that happened "before he came inside". This would suggest he was going to someone's house or meeting them somewhere to talk maybe? Could be that he's in a relationship with this person.

i'll tear in two and never lie to you cause you wouldn't take me home

This is the line that makes me think Cove is talking about being away from someone when touring with Saosin. "tear in two" means he'll supposedly try to be in two places at once. (on tour and with this person) and obviously "never lie to you" means he'll never make the same mistake again. But by the next line, it is clear that the person won't take him back.

your eyes are yet to be clear now cause you wouldn't take me home

I can't figure out this first line... Could mean that the person is crying about the speaker.

you were right and i wasn't listening i never told you what you were missing

first line is more apologies. Second line is questionable. It could mean a lot of stuff.

i never wanted to hear, (i never wanted to) we are the only ones we are running from i never wanted to hear, (i never want to) we are the only ones we are running from

self explanatory kind of. the last line is maybe saying that they're only running from themselves and theres no reason to be doing that.

this was the only way we knew how to make everything just okay

fits into the first verse. Maybe the only way to come out of the relationship okay was for them to stop talking. This could be because cove was on tour and that was the only way they new to fix things?

i'll make it up tonight the sun was two steps too close with his waking eyes

I'm not sure what the first line means. How is he going to make it up to the person given the past few lines? I dont know. The second line might mean that they didnt have enough time to do something?

we'll make believe that everything's alright cause you wouldn't take me home your eyes are yet to be clear now cause you wouldn't take me home you're right i wasn't lsitening i never told you what you were missing i never wanted to hear, (i never wanted to) we are the only ones we are running from i never wanted to hear, (i never wanted to) we are the only ones we are running from i never wanted to hear (i never wanted to) we are the only one we are running from i never wanted to hear we are the only ones we are running from

    more of same

i want to break it off we should stop cause theres nothing going on

goes back to support the evidence of Cove being away. Theres nothing going on because he cant be with this person.

Are you kidding me? They ruined the song. New Angel was much better. What happened to my break down? What happened to the lyrics? I'm so disappointed in this album. Cove's lyricism has suffered. Rewriting three songs off of your EP, and doing two out of three of them poorly doesn't make a better album. They were fine as they were, why re-record them.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
