No map looking for the one I love
Cause the one I love is here

No map looking for the one who stands
Cause he's arming me from fear

We got tuned in by the other side
Lives spent digging holes for the ones that hide

See the white of my eyes
I'm a stunt man
See the white of my eyes
I'm a stunt man
See the white of my eyes
I'm a stunt man
See the white of my eyes

More cuts taken for the one in silence
Now he sits between my ears

His moves in madness how I love the rush
Could you wipe away these tears

We got taken by
A rush of blood

My trains leaving now
How I wish I could

See the white of my eyes
I'm a stunt man
See the white of my eyes
I'm a stunt man
See the white of my eyes
I'm a stunt man
See the white of my eyes

See the white of my eyes
I'm a stunt man
See the white of my eyes
I'm a stunt man
See the white of my eyes
I'm a stunt man
See the white of my eyes

See the white of my eyes
I'm a stunt man
See the white of my eyes
I'm a stunt man
See the white of my eyes
I'm a stunt man
See the white of my eyes

Does it not say "I see the white of YOUR eyes, I'm a stuntman" ??

There seems to be several mistakes, unless I hear it completely wrong.

"He has tuned into the other side" or "We got tuned into the other side"

"Lives spent digging holes to the ones you hide" also sounds more correct than "For the ones that hide". To me at least.

As for the "See the white of my/your eyes" lyric, this seems to be the most difficult one to figure out. Having the same issues on Kasabians forum! I think it sounds either like "Your" or even perhaps "See the widened eyes" which could also make sense here.

Also, at the end he says 'shake it, shake it' Then he slurs 'you wanna shake tonight'.

    Song Meaning

"I wish I could/See the white of your eyes." Did you ever hear that old saying, "Don't shoot until you can see the whites of their eyes"? On this whole album ("Empire"), shooting is used as a metaphor for love/sex ("Shoot the Runner," or in "Me Plus One" - "Should've shot myself on the run.") So I'm reading it that the "stuntman" can't "shoot" the person whose eyes he can't see. Makes about as much sense as anything...

I might have to change my mind about the "My / Your" eyes part. On my CD Cover sleeve, it has some handwritten text that says "See the whites of my eyes".

I agree with dleggett, I've been listening to the song trying to get the lyrics. but about the my/your bit, it definately sounds like 'your' in the song at least, in some parts it sounds like he's saying "I see the whites of your eyes and I'm a stuntman" so that makes me think that's what it is.. also someplace I read "cause he's on his knees in fear' instead of he's arming me for fear.. which I think sounds better but I have no idea which is right hahah. very awesome song anyway, I love it. really intense & dancy..

What are the last words being uttered right at the end of thi song? it sounds like "...they're gonna check tonight..." being repeated over again.

This is one of my favorite tracks off of Empire. I always thought he was saying "See the watering eyes". It makes partial sense. But now I'm listening to it more closely, and I'm not quite sure...

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
