"Swallowtail" as written by and Davide Moras....
"Brimstone eyes she hath,
black in colour looking sad
The hair like straw, her skin so raw...
a debauchery decadent"

Grandmother used to tell
"beware do not go near the hut I say!"
It was believed to be the home of a witch, ahouse left in decay

Bridge:
They speakest alright
Cause I went one night
And saw the old house
Ivy all around
Suddenly I was bound
And fell in darkness

People brave enough went
and faced the things they said
They never came back, neither to be,
sorry for their misbelieve

Only pieces of their bodies hanging up
on the strangest trees they found
Forming shapes that may have linked
to whom the parts belonged in a whole lifetime

Bridge
Chorus:
In her arms you'll crackle like fire
In the night you'll see her Swallowtail
When she's near you'll hear hell's choirs
Run (as) fast as you can, right in the arms of the unknown

Swallowtail Swallowtail
they told me that your evil would prevail
on me, but now I know you are not
what they say
Swallowtail Swallowtail your beauty
comes like sunshine after rain, so warm, an unexpected spark to wash away the dark

She was supposed to be so old, deceitful, not deceivable
Death she'd exhale from her never
ending rings on her nose

Bridge:

They speakest no right
'Cause I went one night
And saw the old house
Butterflies around
Suddenly I was bound
And fell in beauty

Chorus

Chorus2:

All the things they told me liars!
All because she is too beautiful
I know I won't go back 'cause
At the end I'll be a butterfly

Swallowtail Swallowtail....

Swallowtail Swallowtail....

General CommentThis song is funny. It makes me happy! Anyway, it's quite obvious what this song's about. It's kind'a like a fairytale.

General CommentUnfortunately Damna hates releasing information on why he writes certain songs.

Here's what he said on it:
"If you read the lyrics of Swallowtail you'll see it's a simple story but with a deep meaning..I won't explain it here..beacuse if you translate it, it's quite easy to understand it... anyway Swallowtail seems a witch...it's up to you to choose wether she's good or bad"

Basically, the narrator of the story has been told to stay away from the woods because there lives an evil witch (Swallowtail). He has been told horror tales of men that have gone in there never to return. Finally, he braves the woods and finds the woman - who is exceptionally beautiful and lures him in. However, he understands that she is like a Siren --> she lures these men in only to kill them ("Death she'd exhale. . ." and "Only pieces of their bodies. . .").
Aydan confirmed this. . .it's basically a retelling of the story of the Sirens.

General CommentThis song actually reminds me of Homer's "Odyssee". In this epic work there is a part where Odysseus meets Circe, a beautiful witch. To give a brief summary of what happens: Circe bewitches all Odysseus' men, turning them into animals. Odysseus can escape her curse by eating some kind of herb Apollo had given to him. After Circe has seen Odysseus she wants him to accompany her, because she feels lonely on her island. She promises him she will turn his men human again if he stays with her for one night. Odysseus does what she asks, and as promised Odysseus and his crew can set sail the next morning.

I don't know if the song really has something to do with this myth, but the next lines make me think of this story:

All the things they told me liars!
All because she is too beautiful
    I know I won't go back 'cause
At the end I'll be a butterfly

I think the narrator is scared of being cursed and turned into an animal by Swallowtail.
