Jawbone clenched
A little drip drip drench
Some more attention, honey
Put your hand on my hand
Left to the clover
And I can't roll over
'Cause you do it so
You do it so well

I'll feel the anointing coming over me
And the thickness of it running down to my feet
You're seeing in the future
Here without the sutures
Oh you say it now
And say it real well

That you can't start letting me
Can't start feeling me slide
Oh you can't start letting me
Can't start feeling me slide

No more labor, I must sit and savor
In the knots you're putting inside my stomach
Need more water if this gets much hotter
Oh you me so
You see me too well

My imagination
Of your fascination
That I swore existed in a new dimension
Come a little closer to the engine motor
I could love you so
I love you so well

But you can't start letting me
Can't start feeling me slide
Oh you can't start letting me
Can't start feeling me slide
Oh you can't start letting me
Can't start feeling me
Can't start watching me roll on by
Oh you can't start letting me
Can't start feeling

I'd really like to understand this
Pedestal that's blowing my mind this
Try, might be the last one landing boy

Tumbling down with you on the ground
Can't train myself to hold back any longer
Breath mint fornicator
I can bear it
If you do her now
Just do her real well

There's enough provision here to fix my vision
I swear I think I have a superpower
Mathematician
Wants a nice physician
But you told her off
I'll tell her off well

That you can't start letting me
Can't start feeling me slide
Oh you can't start letting me
Can't start feeling me slide
Oh you can't start letting me
Can't start feeling me
Can't start watching me roll on by
Oh you can't start letting me
Can't start feeling me slide

No one has stepped up to the plate to figure this one out... so I guess I will... Okay, the first time I heard it, I thought it was about sex, which I thought was odd for Charlotte Martin anyway, but I think I understand it a little better now...

To me, it's about a struggling relationship that ends and the narrator of the story doesn't want it to. She holds this guy up on such a pedestal that she can't see the truth. She just keeps trying and pushing. But ultimately they fight and break up. Then she sees him out and girls are hitting on him, and she still wants to be with him... That's my overall summary.

"Some more attention, honey Put your hand on my hand Left to the clover And I can't roll over 'Cause you do it so You do it so well" *This shows how she wants him to love her. It's practically left to luck on whether or not he'll show her any love, but she's so wrapped up in him that she keeps on trying anyway.

"You're seeing in the future Here without the sutures Oh you say it now And say it real well" *This part confuses me a bit, but it sounds to me like he talks about marriage with her, but she knows he's more just saying what she wants to hear b/c their relationship isn't held together enough for marriage.

"Tumbling down with you on the ground Can't train myself to hold back any longer Breath mint fornicator I can bear it If you do her now Just do her real well" *I could be wrong about this part, but I take it as her finally having enough and they fight and break it off. Then she sees him out and possible witnesses him kissing another girl or predicts that he will kiss some girl and is preparing herself.

"There's enough provision here to fix my vision" *I feel like this line could be referring to either alcohol or possible suitors as her provision.

"Mathematician Wants a nice physician But you told her off I'll tell her off well" *You could take this line literally as mathematician and physician being the ex and random girl's jobs or possibly more something like personalitiy traits... Not sure if that made sense... But the told her off part is probably saying that he blew this random girl off and now the narrator wants to tell her off, too. I feel like it's that natural cattyness in girls, you know.

Wow, that was long... But hopefully this helps someone to better understand this song...

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Holiday

@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Blink-182
This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.
