When we comes to pride
And other sinful matters
You’re gonna be misled
Left feared and tattered
I got to go because
Something’s on my mind
And it wont get better
No matter how hard I try
Whoa, yeah
You just got to be
The best man for me
Evil hides in dark places
But now I find it
In familiar faces
I got to go because
Something’s on my mind
And it wont get better
No matter how hard I try
Whoa, yeah
You just got to be
The best thing for me

General CommentWell, the lyrics are wrong. Dan wouldn't talk about a man. Though, I think the song is about a woman who thinks she owns a man but he knows that at anytime he can leave her. But then again he loves her but doesn't want to show it. The second verse is saying that even the very people that we all know have evil inside them. Think about it. "Evil hides, in dark places, but now I find, in familiar faces." He's saying how he finds evil in familiar faces. Quite genius.

Lyric CorrectionQuartermain is right. He is saying the best thing for me, but with a southern twist to it like "thang". Old rock and blues artists did it all the time, when I first heard the song I thought he was saying thing anyway.

    Love the song
