Two . . . three . . . four

Let's go place some money
On the order of the horses
Break the ribbon of that famous finish line
Then we'll gather up our stash, babe
Find a little ranch, baby
And buy a lonely little pony to ride

Well, I knew I was lucky
When the needle came and stuck me
This porcupine came and poked my cactus hide
So let me finish what I start, babe
Open up your heart, babe
I saw a land of milk and honey in your mind

Oh, how flesh and blood has found me in your arms again
I see the whisper of the wind has found your hair again
And though my heart said, "Give me refuge in your dignity, my dear"
All I could do was put a seashell to your ear

All flesh and blood has found me in your arms again
I see the whisper of the wind has found your hair again
I know my heart said, "Give me refuge in your dignity, my dear"
All I could do was put a seashell to your ear

General CommentYes, I disagree that Conor doesn't do covers justice. This song, along with his cover of Elliott Smith's "The Biggest Lie" are both really good: I think he brings a whole new sort of feel to this song. In particular, I like the lines "And though my heart said, 'Give me refuge in your dignity, my dear'
All I could do was put a seashell to your ear"
It's kinda that feeling of WANTING to do something for someone, but not being able to. It's a frustrating feeling, but I think he addresses the other aspect to it: the other person knowing you to help sometimes is just as good as actually helping that person.

General CommentMmm. This is my 2nd favorite off of the album. In my honest opinoin, he doesn't do cover songs must justice, I would love to listen to the original version of this song and compare the two. Even if it's worse, it's still good. Can anyone tell me who wrote it?

General CommentI love this song i got noise floor as a gift and I will probably love its giver for ever I like the part when he says
"Well, I knew I was lucky
When the needle came and stuck me
This porcupine came and poked my cactus hide"
Because that is just a silly line and it has a whole lot of meaning behind it like the needle stuck me, but i already had needles in me so it didn't really matter i don't know this song and blue angels air show were both my favorite songs on the album.
    I hope Conor never changes.
    Beautiful songs and lyrics.
