Stop light, lock the door
Don't look back
Undress in the dark
And hide from you, all of you

You'll never know
The way your words have haunted me
I can't believe you'd ask these things of me
You don't know me now or never

You belong to me
My snow white queen
There's nowhere to run
So let's just get it over

Soon my love, you'll see
You're just like me
Don't scream anymore, my love
'Cause all I want is you

Wake up in a dream
Frozen fear
All your hands on me
I can't scream, I can't scream

I can't escape
The twisted way you think of me
I feel you in my dreams And I don't sleep (ever and ever)
I don't sleep

See you belong to me
My snow white queen
There's nowhere to run
So let's just get it over

Soon my love, you'll see
You're just like me
Don't scream anymore, my love
'Cause all I want is you

Can't save your life
Though nothing I bleed for
Is more tormenting

I'm losing my mind
And you just stand there
And stare as my world divides

You belong to me
My snow white queen
There's nowhere to run
So let's just get it over

Soon my love, you'll see
You're just like me
Don't scream anymore, my love
'Cause all I want is you

All I want is you
All I want is you
All I want is you
Forever and ever, ever and ever

    My Interpretation

I definately see the stalker thing but I thought it was about rape. I tailor it to me by making it my good side vs. my bad side. It is an incredible song on an incredible album by an incredible band.

    Song Meaning

i believe its about a stalker, it showing both her and the stalker POV throughout the song.

"Snow white queen" can be broken down to explain this theory.

"snow white" is Amy's nickname as she is like snow white with the beautiful pale skin and black hair. "Queen" is how the stalker sees her, as someone to worship and bow down to.

the majority of the song is from Amy (the one being stalked) POV but

You belong to me My snow white queen There's nowhere to run So let's just get it over

Soon my love, you'll see You're just like me Don't scream anymore, my love 'Cause all I want is you

    • is from the Stalkers point of view.

I actually found this song quite sad, and yes this song is about her stalker but also i believe with lines like:"undress in the dark and hide from you" "Wake up in a dream, frozen fear all your hands on me I can't scream" "I can't escape the twisted way you think of me I feel you in my dreams and I don't sleep"

She dreams of her stalker rapeing her, or thinking about her in lascivious ways. It makes her incredibly uncomfortable and is twisting her up mentaly.

Its a very beautiful song but as ive had a stalker before it brought up alot of uncomfortable feelings(and tears) and i can completely symphasize with amy. Its amazing how she can turn something as psycotic as a stalker into an incredible meaningful song.

    My Interpretation

i definitely vote that the song is about a rape. when it talks about: getting undressed, let just get it over, telling to not scream and nowhere to escape. when it says your just like me is a mental trick to make the other person guilty.

This song is written about a stalker that stalked amy for a while. She had to sleep in hotels some nights because it got so bad. Snow White is her username on evboard, and queen (it is assumed) is in the title because of how a stalker idolises their stalkee, and sees them as perfect.

I can't get over how literal Amy's lyrics are now. It's just such a big change...

I think she gets lower in this song than she did on Fallen or any of the earlier works. Anyone know what notes those are?

i can't believe amy used her screenname to make the title of this song... i'd never make a song called hoogli. not that i can write anything more than a few chords.

soooo did everyone else here get a leaked copy of the new album too? i don't think it's on sale yet.

wait a minute... this song says "lock the door"

it's on an album called "the open door"

the lyrics are sorta crappy, but i like the instrumentals and drum intro.

I can definitley see how this can relate to a stalker situation but for me personally it can describe a rape, molestation, or something along those lines.

She definately hits notes lower than i can remember hearing in any other Evanescence song. (Except Bruce in Lies).

This song is blunt, but it's good. Not as good as the others though. I pretty much solely listen to this song to hear the line "i don't sleep" and then get sad when it's over.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
