"Licking The Palm For Guava" as written by and Aaron Freeman Michael Melchiondo....
It was a cold, dark night
No hope in sight
I left my little hut
And went to the palm
To get some guava

Licking the palm for guava
Licking the palm for guava
Yes, when you're old and you're not very young
Lick the palm for guava
Lick the palm
When you're old and you're not very young
Lick the palm for guava

My InterpretationSince this has sort of a piratey sound to it, I think licking the palm for guava, guava being a fruit, is being done with the fruit and either immediately or way later licking his palms for some of the fruit to prevent scurvy.

General CommentWho knows? Perhaps it has something to do with the guava myth: www (dot) philippinesinsider (dot)com/myths-folklore-superstition/the-myth-of-the-guava-fruit/
