"These Colours Don't Run" as written by Bruce Dickinson, Stephen Percy Harris and Adrian Frederick Smith....
It's the same in every country
When you say you're leaving
Left behind the loved ones
Waiting silent in the hall
Where you're going lies adventure
Others only dream of
Red and green light this is real
And so you go to war

For the passion, for the glory
For the memories for the money
You're a soldier, for your country
What's the difference, all the same

Far away from the land of our birth
We fly a flag in some foreign earth
We sailed away like our fathers before
These colors don't run, from cold bloody war

There is no one that will save you
Going down in flames
No surrender certain death you
Look it in the eye
On the shores tyranny you
Crashed a human wave
Paying for my freedom with your
Lonely unmarked graves

For the passion, for the glory
For the memories for the money
You're a soldier, for your country
What's the difference, all the same

Far away from the land of our birth
We fly a flag in some foreign earth
We sailed away like our fathers before
These colors don't run, from cold bloody war

General CommentOK.... this song is about war but read the lyrics and the name of the song... before the album that this song
was on iron maiden done an OZZfest and they had problems with sharon osbourne... and becuase the osbourne
family were living in britain as theu were from birmingham / south london (wife) e.t.c. they moved to the US
so this song was written about them " These colours dont run " saying we (iron maiden) being british with the
Red/White/Blue colours of the union jack still live in the United Kingdom and havent sold out to go to another
country i.e. USA to live and to mask the lyrics "in directly" they added war theme in to it!! this was told to me by a
    positive source!!!

    Hope this helps!!

General Commentwow Benjio....wow, i doubt its about professional athletes considering the song says the words war in it a couple of times and talks about looking death in the eye and being a soldier. OF COURSE THIS SONG IS ABOUT WAR, my guess is Iwo Gima, seach it up if you don't know what the battle is because i'm too lazy to explain it. Theres a sweeet movie comin out with the Iwo Gima battle i'll be playin this song before i see it. ANYWAYS good fuckin song and "Ddadutta" I don't think maiden swears in the song XD.

General CommentListen to the chorus of wicker man and the chorus for this song, don't listen to the lyrics but listen to the background music. It sounds very similar to each other if you listen carefully....but then again that might just be me.
