"Flying Whales" as written by Mario Duplantier, Jean Michel Labadie, Christian Andeeu and Joseph Duplaniter....
Water of chaos
Have invaded all space
The flood on earth again
I have to find the whales
That once did guides us
To dry lands of life
I won't despair
I'll break this dark all around

Under the heavy sea
I'll search the flight of whales

Beneath the seas I searched
And had a different view
Of us on earth
The sinking ship of men
But it's beyond the stars
I found the place
Where they were
And they finally came to light

Over the winds
They dwell in light
Like the arrow in the sky
I found myself on higher grounds
From up here
For I see them in flight

Now I can see the whales
Looming out of the dark
Like arrows in the sky
I can't believe my eyes
But it's true

Huge tunnel ends in light
Like banks of clouds they gather
See massive shape of flesh
Swimming giants in the clear
The mightiest comes to me
I'm on the wing, wide open
They teach me how to fly
Slowly moving in the air

So much told with no words at all
Powerful presence for only speech

Over the winds
They dwell in light

General CommentThe whole album has a concept about climatic change and reverting it. It's about a character that sees it coming, so he looks for the flying whales, that teach him how to fly, then he flies to Sirius C (a star) where aliens live (the master race) which have the knowledge to save Earth from Global Warming. In the end he saves the earth ("We will see our children growing" Global Warming)

General CommentIf probability comes true the ice caps will melt and cover the lands with water. Whales would then occupy the areas above our heads. looking into the future you would see the whales in flight. for from the new ocean floor you would then have to learn to (swim) fly to the surface although gradual to fly along side the whales

General CommentI think that this song and the album concept is about the destruction of the planet by human kind indiscipline with nature, and about von daniken`s theory of the chariots of the Gods, and Zecharia Sitchin`s in which mankind was created by aliens through genetic manipulation. Global Warming lyrics: "Four hundred thousend years ago they came from outer space and gave us life here we are taking everything for granted I don't think we should do this now" and "but its beyond the stars I found the place where they were and they finally came to light" are clear references of that.
So it`s not a totally fictional work, if you start searching for evidences you will start to find them in every place, and I think Gojira musicians believe this ... Those r the Flying Whales !!!
    "And had a different view
Of us on earth " =)

General CommentWarlocfk451, you obviously aren't used to heavy or brutal music then. Most Gojira fans like it for the atmospheric and talented sound.

As far as I remember, the new album is about what's going wrong with our planet. So, maybe the song is about our sea creatures and what might happen to them.

General CommentI don't know why but it reminds me of that Metallica Instrumental, the call of Ctulu or however the fuck you spell it.

Probably because it's called flying whales, and ktulu is a giant squid or something...

General CommentWhen you put Sentient169's and Liars' meanings together, you get the concept of the album. bam.

General CommentLooking beyond society's meaningless culture and temporary desires which fully guide our lives to find a higher meaning. Through the progression of time we have lost the values which used to guide us. He has found his peaceful wisedom which has been personified as a whale. This become a 'arrow in the sky' and has guided him through this materialist, impulse driven world
