If I blew wings from my spine,
do you think that she'd let me carry her?
If I grew thick and strong,
do you think I wouldn't be so scared of her? Oh, come now, Brother.
It ain't as bad as it seems.
I've been swimming.
There's as many fine women
as there are fish in the sea.
I could tell her every story
if I didn't know how boring I can be.
Every whisper sounds like a song that says, I've never felt this way before.
Oh, come now, Brother.
It ain't as bad as it seems.
I've been hunting
and bitches be frontin'
when they limp like some wounded beast.
I don't consider myself the sensitive type,
but I get lonely in all the moments in between when she walks out my door and comes running home to me.

General Commenti love Madeline's way of role playing and really getting inside a guys head. she looks past the stereotype of guys and how they're suppose to be all macho and stuff. it's a great song of comfort and assurance.

General CommentAgreed. I think every man has to come to the realization that they get "lonely in all the moments in between" her "running home" to them. "Every whisper sounds like a song that says, I've never felt this way before," how true that can be, nature too.

Memorysometimes this song reminds me of how I get enamored with girls who used to be wonderful and dated boys who destroy them who have a long history full of hurt and tattoos and I make them mixes and can never figure out what I want with them. or sometimes I replace it with him and sing it about the boy I love/my best friend. it's beautiful, yes, and I listen to at on seven am drives. I always loved the line, "Every whisper sounds like a song that says, I've never felt this way before."
