If green grass and blue skies are the best things in life, I know that we've been misled.
I'll shut my curtains and go back to bed because if I'm wrong and you're right, You won't hear it tonight. Some things are best left unsaid.
Some things are best left unsaid.
We got the means to make a sound, but that's all we got now.
And we laugh, and we cry, and we live, and we die!
But still, no one know why and we just assume that we'll be in the sky.
And you see a mirror, you see yourself, you call it love, but I call it something else.
Man I think you need some help.
Man I think you need some help.
We got the means to make a sound, but that's all we got now.
Old man sitting in the rain can't complain no more about friends that've gone away because he knows that they will probably meet again, well he's pretty sure they might.
I think I'll change my name to something no one likes like cancelled holidays, then i'll ride my bike to the other end of town and disapeer from sight!

General CommentTo me, this song is about how some people get caught up in life and forget about the simple joys like "green grass and blue skies."

and the last verse is about questioning the existence of god. brilliantly worded in my opinion.

this is one of my favorite funk team songs.
