Let it roll of your back
And let it slip off your tongue
Before you lose your nerve
And end up right back where you started from.

Are you just waiting for the right time?
Are you holding off until you see a sign
To say something?
Or are you just bluffing?
I recognize the worry in your eyes,
Because I’ve been there a couple hundred times.
So take it from me,
speak up or you’ll wish you’d done differently.

Let it roll of your back
And let it slip off your tongue
Before you lose your nerve
And end up right back where you started from
Because when it’s over, then it’s done.
And, boy, to tell you the truth,
If you put your foot in your mouth,
You’d still be better off than kicking yourself.

It’s obvious that you’re conflicted.
To carry on or just to nix it?
Should you stay the course or just walk out that door?
If I were you, I would be on my way.
The rest of your life could start today.
If not now, then when?
If not now, when?

Let it roll of your back
And let it slip off your tongue
Before you lose your nerve
And end up right back where you started from
Because when it’s over, then it’s done.
And, boy, to tell you the truth,
If you put your foot in your mouth,
You’d still be better off than kicking yourself.

So tell me what you’ll say,
when you finally come face to face,
when there ain’t no turning back,
because this is your last chance.
Let’s hear it.

I’m through trying to hold onto this,
because you seem to be over it.
So kiss these almond eyes goodbye,
because this, this is the last time you’ll see them cry. x2

General CommentMAN is this a rockin' song. I think its about a girl dumping a boy, and hes pissed. Basically the end of what once was a great relationship. Don't it suck?

General CommentI see it as a girl that is in a very mentally draining relationship and doesn't speak her mind until she is mentally exhausted to the point that she loses her nerve, leading into her feeling guilty and apologizing for something she didn't do rather than just "letting it roll of her back and slip off her tongue" about how she truly feels. The relationship continues on and it "ends up right where it started from".

The girl is faced with the fact that she wants out of the relationship but just can't seem to let go. "It's obvious you are conflicted to carry on or just to nix it".

The second to the last verse is the narrator (friend speaking to girl) speaking, trying to persuade their friend to get out of the relationship and they want to hear what the girl is going to say to end the relationship "Let's hear it"

The last verse is the girl speaking to her friend (practicing what to say) or the boyfriend (letting it roll off her back and slip off her tongue)

"Im through trying to hold onto this, because you seem to be over it.
So kiss these almond eyes goodbye, because this, this is the last time you'll see them cry."

General CommentI generally have so much love for this song. The bridge is so so good !

"Im through trying to hold onto this,
because you seem to be over it.
So kiss these almond eyes goodbye,
because this, this is the last time you'll see them cry"

It describes perfect the mixture of feelings when it comes to the end of a relationship with a loved one. The contrast in the desperation to kiss them and be with them with that everlasting solitude and comfort that comes with hope, and the angst you feel towards them for their irrefutable actions.
I think the whole song describes a boy, having worked hard for a while to try and fix the foundations and cracks in his weather relationship with a girl, and hes finally had enough of being blamed for the mistakes made, and is making a point that this is the last time hes prepared to deal with the repercussions because he knows its a never-ending circle, and the only way he can make this girl see sense is to show her that hes had enough. Its make or break, and whether she chooses to acknowledge her own mis-doings, swallow her pride and work it out with him, or lose him forever. Even though the song is basically a "fuck you" anthem, you can still recognise the doubt in his voice ever so slightly, and the regret things didnt turn out the way he'd hoped.
