"Before It All Went Wrong" as written by and Joshua Haden....
There must be a way
To feel like I used to feel before
Before it all went wrong

Before I thought that love
Could never be
Before I felt your body
Next to me

There must be a way
To get back to where we were before
Before it all went wrong

Before I thought that love
Could never be
Before I felt your body
Next to me

My InterpretationThe meaning of this song becomes clear with a little bit of helpful punctuation. The key sentence:

"Before, I thought that love could never be--before I felt your body next to me."

In other words: "Before I felt your body next to me I thought that love could never be."

So, the question is: Why this person is wanting to get back to when he didn't believe in love?

Life's a lot simpler when you're not pining away for someone. Perhaps the person has fallen in love with his best friend's wife, or some other unattainable or inappropriate person.
