"Voices" as written by Suni Suleyman, Trevor Jacobs, Kenny Nicholas, Ian Copeland Green and Kenneth Mariano Miguel Thomas....
I miss the part when we were moving forward now
(On our way down)
But maybe someday I'll be something more than love
Just know I'll never tell
And when you're on your way down
(Through the clouds)
And you're waiting for your body's reentry again

We speak in different voices
When fighting with the ones we've loved
We speak in different voices
Why can't we say what we're thinking of?

I'm missing parts now that you've told me everything
(On our way down)
And I was blessed, and I've forgotten how to love
You said you'd never tell
And when you're on your way down
(Through the clouds)
And you're waiting for your body's reentry again

We speak in different voices
When fighting with the ones we've loved
We speak in different voices
Why can't we say what we're thinking of?

Not even I will tell

We speak in different voices
When fighting with the ones we've loved
We speak in different voices
We say these things to know they're real

We speak in different voices
When fighting with the ones we've loved
We speak in different voices
Why can't we say what we're thinking of?

We speak in different voices
When fighting with the one's we've loved
We speak in different voices
We speak in different voices

To know they're real
Real
I'll never tell

General CommentI agree with a lot thats been said so far. I agree that when they use the phrase"we speak in different voices, when fighting with the ones we've loved" it refers to how the more and more heated an arguement becomes, slowly but steadily people begin to speak not with there outside self, but with the person who they truely are beneath the skin, the person who they really are, and when this happens the voices and tones of the person can greatly change because they are showing who they really are and how they really feel. As far as the phrase" when you're on your way down(through the clouds), and you're waiting for your body's re-entry" refers to how someones ego and mind can seem to sore up into the clouds because of all the things they are releasing, and then how we fall back down into ourselves after we've said what it was that we truely felt and wanted to say . . .

General CommentI think part of this song is talking about how when you love a person sometimes you don't tell them the whole truth because you're afraid it will hurt them.

    "We speak in different voices
Why can't we say what we're thinking of

    Not even I will tell...".

And how even when we know those we love aren't giving us the whole truth we don't push it because we're afraid of what we might find out.

"I'm missing parts, now that you've told me everything"

Some other parts of the song allude to having secrets with people we love and not being able to share these secrets with anyone else. Its as if someone has broken the trust "You said you'd never tell" and is working their way back to being trusted by the other person "And when you're on your way down
    (Through the clouds)
And you're waiting for your body's re-entry again", but they keep breaking the trust and letting the other person down "I miss the part, when we were moving forward now".

I duno, thts just the things i think about when i hear this song. It could be about something completely different.

General CommentSaying stuff you'd really don't mean when fighting with the ones you love.
"You said you'd never tell." When fighting with someone we tend to get so angry we say things the person has told us we shouldn't say. That's just what I think.

General CommentThis song, like every other song, can take on a bunch of different meanings. For me personally, I think that everybody is right about the how we lose ourselves and control over what we say and release who we really are and what we really think. I also agree with the opinion that as the argument escalates, we grow more distant. However, after watching the music video (and I know people are going to comment on the irrelevance of the video), I think that there is an underlying message that there are people out there who are like us and that everyone is going to get in an argument with the people we love. There will always be contention between us. And it is sort of a way to unite us all together in seeing our flaws until we apologize (hence the boy kissing his dad.) Also, based on the video, I think that we should all be more grateful for the fact that we DO have people in our lives we love who love us back and can show that affection. The boy in the video only had his father, yet acknowledged that he had a father and was grateful for him.

General Commentwhen you fight with loved ones, you turn into a different person. i think it is about maybe a family member or a girlfriend, and they've had an argument and things can't go back to being the same again because they have shown their true feelings towards him.
"your waiting for your bodys re entry again"- maybe this is about the loved one, they are waiting to be allowed back into the writers trust but they just can't let them. either that, or that they are waiting to feel the same way they did before but it is impossible after the things said, or the "voices".

General Commenti think this has to do with shouting to people when arguing.. when two people get angry, their hearts tend to go away from eachother. To cover this distance they have to shout, and use a different voice so they get to listen to each other. The more angry they are, the louder they have to scream through this distance.

General Comment"We speak in different voices
Why can't we say what we're thinking of"

they can't say what they're thinking of because when two people are in love they dont shout at each other, they speak softly.. whispering.. why? because their hearts are next to eachother. The distance between them is very little. When they fall more and more in love, they don't speak, they only whisper. Finally they don't even need to whisper, with just a look into their eyes and that's enough.

General Comment"And when you're on your way down
    (Through the clouds)
And you're waiting for your body's re-entry again"

this teach us to don't let our hearts go away from eachother when fighting with the ones we love, don't say words that will drift you apart even more. There will come a time when the distance is so big that you won't be able to find find your way back. "your body's re-antry again"

i hope they come to spain, someday!
