"We Dont Have To Take Our Clothes Off" as written by and Preston W./walden Glass....
Not a word, from your lips
You just took for granted that I want to skinny dip.
A quick hit, that's your game.
But I'm not a piece of meat, stimulate my brain.

Night is young, so are we.
Let's get to know each other better, slow & easily.
Take my hand, let's hit the floor.
Shake our bodies to the music.
Maybe then you'll score.

So come on baby, won't you show some class
Why you want to move so fast.
We don't have to take our clothes off

To have a good time
Oh no
We could dance & party all night
And drink some cherry wine

Uh huh
We don't have to take our clothes off
To have a good time
Oh no

We could dance and party all night (all night)
And drink some cherry wine
Uh huh
Na na na na na na na

Just slow down if you want me
A man wants to be approached cool and romantically
I've got needs
Just like you

Give me conversation, good
Vibrations through and through
So come on baby, won't you show some class
Why you want to move so fast

We don't have to take our clothes off
To have a good time
Oh no
We could dance and party all night (all night)

And drink some cherry wine
Uh huh
Na na na na na na

General CommentI love this song. It was a reaction to the AIDS epidemic of the '80s and it's just a shame that Jermaine ended up dying of it. You got to love an artist who would sing a song like this.

General CommentIt's generally about not rushing into sex. While an AIDS epidemic might have been the motivation for the song, it's worth looking at it at face value as well. The singer is wanting to have fun with whoever in other ways, and leave having sex until ready. After all, sex isn't something to be taken lightly.

General CommentIncorrect lyrics: But I'm not a piece of meat, still you like my brain. Should be: Girl, I'm not a piece of meat, stimulate my brain.

    And: If the conversation's good
Vibrations through & through //Should be: Give me conversations, good vibrations through and through.

And, even though this song's one of my favorites, I've got a few beefs*lol*First off, tell me what single man actually belives that? If he really means what he's saying in this song, either he's gay as hell or she's ugly as s*it. Most single men I know, the date's all about the score! And usually, her performance will indicate whether or not they have conversation beforehand next time. If there even IS a next time.

And "drink some cherry wine"? Oh, c'mon!*L*Again, in my experience, any single man who willingly drinks cherry wine, of all things, is either trying to score, because he knows "chicks dig stuff like that"...or he's dating you to get to your brother. I'm just sayin'.

And don't bash, I'm not hatin' on anybody. No, I'm not against gay people(considering I've got gay friends and family members, they'd be shocked if I was), I don't hate men(though my Husband might disagree lol), and I truly DO love this song. It's one of my faves, & I can never sit still when I hear it. This song always puts me in a good mood, no matter what's going on around me. And it WOULD be nice if more men were like this. I know they're out there, it's just hard to find 'em. I just thought I'd take a silly poke at it, is all. Still & always a great song!
