Look around, look around
There's no affection, only infection
Search yourself, search yourself
Can I depend on you to surrender?

And we will storm their shores
Eyes suffocating all they see
Feet sturdy on the rubble that will soon be dust
And there will be no ruins, no memory, no history
Only our unrelenting march side by side
We will comb the earth and sweep it clean
Hearts and feet unified
The hand of man is no match for our warless army

Please tell me that this is the end of the world (and we will strike with the arms of Gods)
(And leave nothing in our wake) It's time that we erase history
(And we will strike with the arms of Gods) without a trace or a memory
(On my word, we will seize fate)
Please tell me that this is the end of the world (and we will strike with the arms of Gods)
(And leave nothing in our wake) It's time that we erase history
(And we will strike with the arms of Gods) without a trace or a memory
(Destiny choked in our wage)

Steadfast soldiers with hands of Gods
And the numbers to succeed
We will persist until all that's left is a perfect sphere
Never a break in the chain
Never a folly of conviction
And may the traitors' ashes
Seal the barren landscape

We are the end!
We are the end!

Look around, look around
There's no affection, only infection
Search yourself, search yourself
Can I depend on you to surrender?
Can I depend on you to surrender?

Please tell me that this is the end of the world (and we will strike with the arms of Gods)
(And leave nothing in our wake) It's time that we erase history
(And we will strike with the arms of Gods) without a trace or a memory
(On my word, we will seize fate)
Please tell me that this is the end of the world (and we will strike with the arms of Gods)
(And leave nothing in our wake) It's time that we erase history
(And we will strike with the arms of Gods) without a trace or a memory
(Destiny choked in our wage)

Lots of corrections to be made here...

Suit yourself, suit yourself. should be Search yourself, search yourself

No memory or history, only an unrelenting burst should be No memory or history, only an unrelenting motor

Please tell me that this is the end of the world, it's time to re-erase history should be Please tell me that this is the end of the world, it's time that we erase history

We will persist till all it's worth is a perfect shame should be We will persist till all it's worth is a perfect sphere

Never a falling of perfect shame should be Never a folly or a conviction

And we will trade our word Still a barren landscape should all be And may the traitor's ashes seal the barren landscape

well seems to me the song is about war and about how we will destroy ourselves and everything around us. kind of planet of the apes deal. minus the apes and everything..

It's about self distruction of the human race leeding to the planets inevitable destruction and our eventual demise.

I absolutely love this song. It starts out calm and right after the first verse, it just explodes into furious screaming and guitar, with no build whatsoever between. Then there's the amazing chorus. And the drumming...

I always think the part Dallas sings at the beginning is about STD's and "search yourself" to catch them and "cant depend on you to surrender" cuz the other person wouldnt tell you

Best alexisonfire song in my opinion. And by the looks of it not too many people think likewise.

Unlike a lot of their songs, this one finds it rythme early and sticks to it. Most of their songs jump all over the page, but this one knows its place and sticks to it.

I think its just a song for the people, that if they stick together and fight for whats right together, they will create a world for the better.

As for the person who says this is the words for a different song, they're a dipshit.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.

American Town
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.
