"Cardiff" as written by James Donald Root, Corey Todd Taylor, Shawn Economaki and Josh Rand....
This fluid feels like pain, this stoic mood is all in vain
I reach into the dark, I tear this other me apart
How many years ago, how many deaths I can't let go
My flesh is temporary, my god, extraordinary

You, can't, kill, my, mind
A man delivered, can never make his way in darkness
I know tonight will end, but I won't give this life away again

Sifting through this same debris, oh my father, call to me
This smoke is in my blood, this home is just no good
Save me from my bitterness, give me up, I did my best
Shock this system full of shit, mock this fucker lost in it

You, can't, kill, my, mind
A man delivered, can never make his way in darkness
I know tonight will end, but I won't give this life away
I won't give this life away, again
A man surrendered, can never find his own forgiveness
I know my life will end, but I won't give tonight away
I won't give tonight away again

This fluid feels like pain, this ruin feels like rain
I reach into the past, my future's fading fast
How many years ago, how many I let go
My flesh is all I have, my face is happenstance
This smoke is in my blood, this life is not enough
This life is not enough, this life is not enough

General Commentit sounds to me like a possible murderer even, "how many deaths i can't let go," and he is telling the people who have locked him up that no matter how hard they try "they can't kill his mind," he also says "a man delivered, can never make his way in darkness," maybe he's saying that he can't live in prison even once he realises that he deserves it, and "this life is not enough," saying that he doesn't want to live the rest of his life in prison

And I believe the song is about Coreys alcoholism again, or maube drug use, im not sure, but i dont see how it links into the song being called Cardiff?

General CommentUm, I live in Cardiff, (well, very close to it) and I've got to say, it's really not that bad...

General CommentWell, who said Cardiff was bad?

Anyways this song, is an awesome song. You have to read beyond the cryptic lyrics. Corey's lyrics are quite puzzling some of the time. This song very well could be about multiple personalities? Or a someone who shuts themself from the world because they feel rejected from society. The blame for everything. I dont know. I'm just throwin' it out there.
