"We Don't Need Another Hero" as written by and Terry/lyle Britten....
Out of the ruins
Out from the wreckage
Can't make the same mistake this time
We are the children
The last generation
We are the ones they left behind
And I wonder when we are ever going to change
Living under the fear till nothing else remains

We don't need another hero
We don't need to know the way home

All we want is life beyond thunder dome
Looking for something we can rely on
There's got to be something better out there
Love and compassion
That day is coming
All else are castles built in the air

And I wonder when we are ever going to change
Living under the fear till nothing else remains
All the children say

We don't need another hero
So, what do we do wit hour lives?
Will our story shine like a light?

We don't need another hero

General CommentA great song that refers to a very entertaining movie.

The verse that starts with "So what do we do with our lives?" is probably my favorite.

General CommentSurprised there arent more comments here, as i suppose most folks are ewwhenevr they happen upon a song near and dear to them. I always feel such pangs of nostaligia and hopefulness whenever i hear this song. It reminds me of a time when me capacity for frelling things deeply (like hope) was so much wider. No that I'm an "adult" and everything must be taken in stride in order to function i realize that there is a price to pay. that equanimity is a double edged sword. But this song along with a few others somehow tap into my the reserve behind my "reserve". Ill listen to this song at lunch today and walk around hopeful/purposeful for a bit.
