Calling me high on the telephone
Came by plane all alone
Spend the afternoon making a speech
Speech made you nervous that you couldn't eat
You came to show your mad love
You came to tell it's not enough
Come and erase me and take me with you
Kiss me, I'm drunk, don't worry it's true
I want to show you how mad is my love
Come and attack me, it's not gonna hurt
Fight me, deny me, if I fear when you're close
Let's make love and listen Death From Above

You knew my ideas when they were in my head
They were my secret evening plans
Wine then bed then more then again
Wine then bed then more then again
Run run run, to make your heart shake
Kiss kiss kiss will make this earth quake
I'm gonna get what I'm willing to take
This gotta worth the miles you made
Come back, I'll warm you up
Make me breakfast, I'll make it up
You are so talented, I'm in love
Let's make love and listen Death From Above

I'm back with a smack, and I'm ready to attack
Stare at my lips and see they were wet
I know how you're doing by looking at your pants
And this is how we call it a comeback

Screaming your name on the microphone
Going back home all alone
Listen to the tunes that you sent to me
Listen to them good company
I want to show my mad love
You have to know it's not enough
Come and complete me, stay here with me
This is all true, it's water I drink
I want you to show me how mad is your love
Come and attack me, it's not gonna hurt
Fight me, deny me, if I fear when you're close
Let's make love and listen Death From Above

General CommentCan't believe more people haven't commented on this song, it's so fun. It makes me happy just to hear the opening sequence- it's crazy. It doesn't make sense- I think it's about a volatile relationship, maybe one thts just beginning or an old one thats starting to go downhill. The singer is driving the relationship and trying harder than the other guy/girl, and by the sound of it the relationships a pretty sexual one. Good stuff.

General Commenti believe the band, because in the video they have a little sequence that sort of imitates the cover of dfa's cd.

General CommentI disagree with Jew Fro Kid, who I think is disregarding the first few lines of the song completely... they prove that it wasn't some random hookup.

    Fantastic song, fantastic band.

General CommentI think it's about an ex that you're still in love with. And all you want is the ex to just really take you back--do something crazy. In this case, the thing that's gonna get ya laid is Death From Above 1979 :)

General Commenti'm rather sure there is a 'to' both in the title and the lyrics.

My InterpretationFor me it is a song about a re-encounter of former lovers. He has flown from his hometown to meet her (and that's why she mentions "the miles he made") and, since they are nervous they both deal with anxiety with different methods: weed, wine and even a speech for the moment. They spend a night and maybe more together doing what they used to (listening to DFA, of course) but eventually he has to go back and he does so all alone. She keeps a mixtape he made to her and, when she listens to it, she feels connected to him.

General Commentyeah, they are referencing Death From Above 1979.

I love the silly lyrics. I have yet to see the music video. I really should.
