I was sure by now, God you would have reached down
And wiped our tears away,
Stepped in and saved the day.
But once again, I say amen
That it's still raining
As the thunder rolls
I barely hear your whisper through the rain
I'm with you
And as your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise
The God who gives and takes away

And I'll praise you in this storm
And I will lift my hands
That you are who you are
No matter where I am
And every tear I've cried
You hold in your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise you in this storm

I remember when I stumbled in the wind
You heard my cry you raised me up again
My strength is almost gone how can I carry on
If I can't find you
As the thunder rolls
I barely hear you whisper through the rain
I'm with you
And as your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise
The God who gives and takes away

And I'll praise you in this storm
And I will lift my hands
That you are who you are
No matter where I am
And every tear I've cried
You hold in your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise you in this storm

I lift my eyes unto the hills
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord
The maker of heaven and earth
I lift my eyes unto the hills
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord
The maker of heaven and earth

And I'll praise you in this storm
And I will lift my hands
That you are who you are
No matter where I am
And every tear I've cried
You hold in your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise you in this storm

And though my heart is torn
I will praise you in this storm

I love this song... "But once again, I say amen and it's still raining" I relate to a lot... You can pray and pray and sometimes it just doesn't happen. But you just don't give up, and if anything it should bring you closer to Him, not farther away. "and though my heart is torn I will praise You in this storm" Saying, that even tho things arent going well, and I dont understand it....I'll still praise you. My life most of the time :)

Think about it. how hard is that to do "God, I'm struggling. I need You, I need help. I don't know how to deal with what I'm dealing with right now, but I know that You're there with me and I praise You for it Father God"

its hard to say during struggle. beautiful song. ay. they rawk lol

I love this song, it is getting me through a lot of my troubles. However, one thing I think we need to remember in the storms of life, is that with the storm comes rain, and rain is water, and water produces growth. Mountain tops are great, but nothing grows on mountain tops, everything grows in the valley

My aunt made me a CD and she put this song on it. I began to cry so hard as I heard the words to this song, because my brother had died in a terrible accident. The words in this song rung so true to me - and when you go through something so hard - it's hard to feel God in the midst of it, but really He's there. "I barely hear Your whisper through the rain, I'm with you...and as Your mercy falls-I raise my hands and praise the God who gives (a life, blessings) and takes away (the death of a loved one, the loss of one's home, job, friend, etc.)."

The death of my brother was such a hard thing to handle. I had a strong belief in Who God was and is in my life - but I couldn't understand how God would take my brother from me. I prayed for God to heal him, make him better (he struggled with addiction, depression). Instead, he brought him home...to be with Him. I would cry out to God in pain, I would try to understand why my brother couldn't feel God & experience Who He was in his life... "I remember when I stumbled in the wind, You heard my cry - You raised me up again, my strength is almost gone how can I carry on - if I can't FIND You - and as the thunder rolls, I barely hear You whisper through the rain - I'M WITH YOU"... I love my Lord Jesus, and know that He IS with me. This song was beautiful and touched me in so many ways. In itself, IT was a gift to me. I truly feel that God speaks to us through His word, His voice, and in the gift He gives to many --- song. God bless you, Casting Crowns.

This song is so amazing.. i heard it in church just this morning and i fell in love with it. To me this song means that without the "storms" in life (pain), we would be no where... who would we have to thank for the healing? if everything was perfect and life was without trial, we would never have any reason to be thankful for the times when things are good because we wouldn't know what it was like to endure pain. Take me, for example: i have scholiosis and my back is constantly in pain. I have so many problems with it, its pathetic. But then there are times i feel like i could do back-flips... and after thanking god for relief, i thank god for the pain... because without the pain... i would have no reason to be thankful to god... this song really rings true to my heart and that is the way i feel about it

My favorite part of this song is...

But once again, I say amen and it's still raining as the thunder rolls I barely hear Your whisper through the rain, "I'm with you "

Its amazing. I heard it in the car with my mom and broke down.

this song has brought me back again and again.. Ive been in constant pain ever since january.. and i have been put through endless medical testing.. and it just seems like the pain will never end. it has seemed like every time something goes right, theres a catch. this song really woke me up and reminded me that the Lord of all creation loves me, and how ridiculous it is for me to believe that Hes not there. Even through trials, we must praise Him. My storm is still strong, but each pray weakens it. Great song, it brings me to tears

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.

Midnight
Ed Sheeran
“Midnight” is a song about finding a love that is so true that it provides a calming feeling through every storm. Ed Sheeran reflects on his good fortunes in landing someone with such peace and support and speaks of not fearing the dark days because he knows they’ll all end in the safety nets of her arms. “Well, good morning there / What a way to start the day / With everything laid bare,” Ed Sheeran sings in the first verse, enthusiastic to be waking up beside his woman. He apologizes for missing her calls in the second verse and promises to return them because for him, speaking to her is the most important thing. “Well, I get lost inside my head / In this chaos, you’re my calm / And I will find my feet again / ‘Cause еven the worst days of my life will always еnd / At midnight in your arms,” sings Ed Sheeran in the chorus, revelling in his good luck.
