"Sillyworld" as written by James Donald Root, Shawn Economaki, Josh Rand and Corey Todd Taylor....
Freedom's just a word today, freedom's just a word
When someone takes your word away, it's seldom ever heard
So take a sentence full of things you're not supposed to say
Carry on, but don't write 'em down, or you'll be gone

Love is just a song today, love is just a song
When someone takes the song away, you seldom sing along
So take those lyrics serious and sing your life away
Carry on, but don't write 'em down, or they'll be gone

All we ever do is talk; we like to ride, but we never walk
We make it so damn easy, we get bored
Why can't anybody see, what's good for you is good for me?
I can't take your silly world
I can't take your silly world no more

Peace is just two fingers now, peace was just a face
When someone put it on a shirt, you knew to count the days
So take those fingers, tape 'em up, and shove 'em up your ass
And carry on, but don't try it now, 'cause peace is gone

All we ever do is talk; we like to ride, but we never walk
We make it so damn easy, we get bored
Why can't anybody see, what's good for you is good for me?
I can't take your silly world
I can't take your silly world no more

We fight our instincts
We go to extremes
We fight our instincts
We go to extremes

We fight our lives
We fight our lives
We fight our lives
We fight our lives
We fight our lives
We fight our lives
We fight our lives
We fight our

We fight our lives
We fight our lives
We fight our lives
We fight our lives
We fight our lives
We fight our lives

General Commentoh i'm sorry, i forgot, this website isn't about people giving their interpretations of a song, it's obviously just about the only and one true interpretation. I'm so sorry that you have such a closed mind you cannot understand or appreciate the opinions of others. i'm also sorry that you have insecurities enough to call me an idiot, without knowing me, or anything about me, except that i listen to stone sour.

Thankyou for making the world a slightly worse place

General CommentPeace has always been a figment of the imagination for forever. I think in the song Corey Taylor or whoever wrote this song is trying to blame our political leaders for the self distruction of the world.(self distruction being the emphasis) It is b/c people don't love each other that we don't have peace. That has always been the case it's nothing new

General CommentMostly people just talk, but when it comes to action, there is none. And most of times these people talk about how anyone else should think ... it just doesn't work...

Talking about love, peace or freedom doesn't have meaning anymore in a lying world. So it's easy for anyone to talk about. But its the actions that count.

General CommentI think one of the many interpretations of this song, and this is my opinion, is that Corey is saying that the world is a place where people try to tell you how to live, what to believe in, and what to do. But it is just as easy to live your own life and do what you want so hes telling someone he doesnt want to be apart of their sillyword

General Commentthis song seems to about how we've lost value to a lot of crucial ideals like piece love and freedom are just words and symbols and we've forgotten what they really mean, and are losing them

General CommentI think its about how everythingn used to have significant meaning but because of people over using and abusing these things, they just dont mean anything anymore. Sillyworld.

General CommentI have a correction to make...the lyrics aren't "Peace is just two fingers now
    Peace was just a phase
When someone put it on a shirt
    She really killed the days
So take those fingers tape 'em up and shove 'em up your ass
and carry on but don't try it now cause peace is gone"

"She really killed the days" should be changed to, "You knew to count the days."

General Commenti think this may be about a dysfunctional couple, and he is getting frustrated that the other person won't just let things be, they have to fight about everything, hence why "peace is gone." and perhaps the girl is taking forever to trust him and to open up to him(not literally). He is saying that he can't take her "sillyworld" that she created, where she always gets her way, anymore.

    this song is great.

General CommentIt's all sarcasm in my opinion. When he says to shove those fingers up your ass, I don't think he really meant it as such.

It's like Tool's Stinkfist or Prison Sex. Cruel topic with loads of interpretation. Don't get me wrong now, this ain't no Tool song but still... Ah fuck it.

All in all it's like... APC's cover of John Lennon's Imagine. All the emotuion is drained from the song, sung to the tune of a nazi-like piano chord. It enhances the "We've fucked up" aspect of the song.

And in truth, we have fucked up. We have to take this seriously, and make songs like these a thing of the past...

    Oh, there's something there...

"Love is just a song today
    Love is just a song
When someone takes the song away
    You'll seldom sing along
So take those lyrics serious and sing your life away
and carry on but don't write 'em down or they'll be gone"

Criticism for those that sing this song and others covering similar topics, but doing nothing at all to cause change for the better.
