Lying on the bed I say
Everybody feels this way.
But anybody else'd leave.
And are you worried 'bout the way you know?
You worried 'bout your fancy clothes?
But anybody else, they'd leave.

I'm not afraid, I'm not alone.
I'm just a hangin' on way too long.
Let me out, oh let me in
Oh let me stumble when I fall.
If you noticed me, I noticed you.
But it's the simple things I feel you knew.
Let me out, oh let me in, again.

Oh.

And are you worried 'bout how I feel you know?
Pity I've been yet to know.
But anybody else, they'd leave.
And are you goin' on, you know you say?
I'm feeling bored of yesterday.
But anybody else would leave.

I'm not afraid, I'm not alone.
I'm just a hangin' on way too long.
Let me out, oh let me in.
Oh let me stumble when I fall.
If you noticed me, I noticed you.
Well it's a feeling that I feel you knew.
Let me out, oh let me in, again.

(guitar solo)

Let me out, let me in.
Let me know I'd feel you win
You wanted more, you wanted this.
You wanted more,

Let me say, let me know.
Let me feel I know you'd fall.
You wanted more, you wanted this
You wanted simple things I miss.
Well again, again.

It's like the sky is falling down.
It's like the way you would drown.
Like the sigh, on the night.
Like the feeling that I am just alright.
I know, I know, I know.

I'm not afraid, I'm not alone.
I'm just a hangin' on way too long.
Let me out, let me in.
Let me stumble when I fall.
You noticed me, I noticed you.
But it's the simple things, the simple things I need.
Simple things I need
Simple things I need
Simple things I need
Simple things I need
Simple things I need
Simple things I need
Simple things I need
Simple things I...

General CommentI saw them perform this live at the Juno Awards...wow. Here is a YouTube video of it:

    youtube.com/…

By far my favourite OLP song, and all the more shame since it was never recorded in a studio or put on a CD. Yeah I know they recorded a poppy version for a beer CD...but this version is classic OLP. Raw and thought-provoking rather than about teenage angst.

Regardless, it's a great song and I hope everyone takes a look at the video for themselves.
