Ai ai ai ai ai, woo woo woo
Ai ai ai ai ai, not me, not you
Ai ai ai ai ai, woo woo woo
Ai ai ai ai ai, not me, not you
Ai ai ai ai ai, a-woo woo woo
Ai ai ai ai ai, not me, not you

Sitting in a Russian bath-house on Avenue B
No matter how much we sweat, we just can't agree
Ai, razminku yershikom provodim my
Nobody learn no nothing from no history

Tall little Sally plays with magic pebbles
Dasha sells equipment to the Chechnya rebels
Ya vyhozhu iz anala v astral
Tam mnogo chego slyshal no ne zapisal
Nesmotrya na Se.Sheh.Ah ne poterayl azarta
Buhayu strogo kazhdoe vosmoye marta
Sitting in the bath-house on Avenue B
And never agree

Sally, all empires fall, even trends they fade away
Even complete strangers (asshole) can lead you astray
But god damn it, this round is on me
Nobody learns no nothing from no history

Ai, woo woo woo
Oh, not me, not you
Ai, woo woo woo
Oh, not me, not you

Tall little Sally, my darling
Your panic's so charming
Your shopping techniques are amazing
Celebrity erudition disarming
Tall little Sally, my darling
Your panic's so charming
Tall little Sally, my darling
Yura, viruchai! (Yura viruchil!)

Ai, woo woo woo
Oh, not me, not you
Ai, woo woo woo
Oh, not me, not you

Sitting in a Russian bath house on the Avenue B
No matter how much we sweat, we just can't agree
Ai ai ai ai ai, a-woo woo woo
Ai ai ai ai ai, not me, not you

Actually, Hutz sings not in Ukrainian, but in Russian. Not everyone knows that about half of people in Ukraine are native Russian speakers.

Most of the Russian lyrics in GB's songs do not carry much meaning, but are just Hutz's "stream of consciousness" with references to the FSU cultural context in which Hutz grew up in.

Here is my attempt at translation:

Sitting in a Russian bath-house on Avenue B, No matter how much we sweat we just can't agree. Ai, Razminku yershikom provodim my, [Translation: We are getting warmed up with yersh (50/50 beer/vodka cocktail - cocktail.uk.com/db/viewCocktail.asp)] Nobody learn no nothing from no history.

Oh Sally with the magic pebbles, Now she sells equipment to the Chechen rebels. Ya vyhozhu iz anala v astral Tam mnogo chego slyshal no ne zapisal. [Translation: I am getting from anal to astral plane/I heard a lot there but did not put it down] Nesmotrya na Se.SHeh.Ah ne poterayl azarta Buhayu strogo kazhdoe vosmoye marta [Translation: Despite USA I have not lost my drive, I am getting drunk every 8th of March (International Women's Day, big holiday in FSU, kind of like Valentains + Mothers day combined)] Sitting in the bath-house on Avenue B, And never agree.

....... Oh little Sally my darling. Yura vyruchai [Yura (Yuri Lemeshev), help me! - this is kind of a one gypsy band musician asking another to join with solo IMHO] Yura vyruchal... [Yura was helping] ....... Ah-uh-uh-uh [just singing without words] Not me, not you!

This is quite a good song - love the album. I'm not quite sure what this song is about though. I love the way he sings "Oh Sally....Chechen rebels." I also think the part "in trans" is "even trends" which makes more sense and fits in with the "shopping techniques" later.

Some of it seems like it's about a girl who is quite superficial with the use of "celebrity", "shopping" and "trends". Maybe someone else can shed more light on it.

Sally is referenced alot through the album, it sounds like he takes her away from her artificial life and into his weird folk punk world.

In this song he's trying to convince her in but she's relectant.

actually I think its the opposite. Sally used to be in the gypsy world, but is now entraced with the superfical american lifestyle. but hey, that just me. But does anyone know the Ukrainin parts?

    Even COMPLETE strangers

There are a few more errors, but I can't be certain how to fix them.

He uses the name Sally a lot. Even on other albums. In Vio-la Intruder a girl named Sally sings on the track God Like. I thought it was strange. But before I read she sang on the track I thought he was using th name more generally, like the way military uses the word Charley.

    Great song. Great album..

To me, it is certainly someone(although I think the references to 'Sally' are everyone in general) selling out/buying in. Empires and trends fade... Why not just be true to yourself?

Here are the words with Ukrainian for those who wanted it. To be honest, the Ukrainian all seems to be based on a very different topic altogether- it’s basically claiming that even though he’s in the US, he won’t forget his heritage and culture. Also- it’s “Yura, vyruchai”... which means- “Yura, save us” And then “Yura vyruchil”... which means “Yura saved us” NO idea how any of that ties in... Sitting in a Russian bath-house on Avenue B, No matter how much we sweat we just can't agree.

I disagree phychonome. I tihnk its the same Sally as in the song Sally. It follows on from there,

Sally was a 15 year old girl from Nebraska

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

American Town
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
