Emily will find a better place to fall asleep
She belongs to fairy tales that I could never be
The future haunts with memories that I could never have
And hope Is just a stranger wondering how it's got so bad

I die each time you look away
My heart, my life will never be the same
This love will take my everything
One breath, one touch will be the end of me

You could be the final straw that brings me back to earth
Ever-waiting airports full of the love that you deserve
Wishing I could find a way to wash away the past
Knowing that my heart will break, but at least the pain will last

I die each time you look away
My heart, my life will never be the same
This love will take my everything
One breath, one touch will be the end of me

Emily will find a better place to fall asleep
Maybe she will save me in the oceans of her dream
And maybe someday love

Maybe someday love

Bit by bit, this is my interpretation of the song:

"Emily will find a better place to fall asleep She belongs to fairy tales that I could never be The future haunts with memories that I could never have And hope Is just a stranger wondering how it’s got so bad"

The first line is self self-explanatory. The second, I think he's saying that Emily has a rosy pink view of things, that he just might be too jaded to fall in line with. Her beautiful view of love and romance is something he can't ever see himself being able to give her (line three). In line four he's talking about that hope we all start out with, but lifes turns takes away from us, and we're left wondering where it all went so wrong.

"I die each time you look away My heart, my life will never be the same This love will take my everything One breath, one touch will be the end of me"

He knows that Emily will fond someone to offer her what he has been unable too. His heart, his life will ever be the same because he'll know in losing her he's losing the best thing he could ever have. WHen she leaves him, she'll take away his last hope at love.

"You could be the final straw that brings me back to earth Ever-waiting airports full of the love that you deserve Wishing I could find a way to wash away the past Knowing that my heart will break, but at least the pain will last"

He's hoping that she can tear him away from his fears so he can give her what he knows so many others are willing to and can offer. He wishes he could get past whatever it is that's tied him in his fear, and though her leaving will break his heart, at least he'll just be left in the pain he's already used to.

    (chorus again)

"Emily will find a better place to fall asleep Maybe she will save me in the oceans of her dream And maybe someday love Maybe someday love"

Again, he knows she'll find someone better for her, but he's hoping that her rosy view of things can somehow envelope him, draw him in enough that someday, just maybe, he'll be able to be the man he so wants and deserves.

Holiday

@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
